An exhibition of works in bronze, basically, and they are commemorating the first 120 years of existence of the Codina Foundry, a prestigious casting workshop based art works in Madrid. But there are also sculptures in plaster, resin, steel, stone, clay and fiberglass. Also, a large group of bronze platelets appear to have a great value for the Foundry is exposed. Mari Meszaros graduated

in 1978 at the Art

Academy in Budapest.

To finance his studies he

worked in a glass factory,

cutting vases.

It was there that he met

the glass, learned some

of their techniques and

explored its possibilities

as an artistic material.

In the early 80s he

moved to live in Holland,

called by the firm Van

Tetterode Voorthuizen to

work as a designer in a

workshop production of

architectural glass.

Completed technical

Mark Matthews is especially recognized for his work on the glass spheres.

Work with one assistant and each piece is meticulously crafted and signed by the artist.

In 1985, Mark was invited to open a business of glass within the Sauder Village. It was here where he began making glass beads (or marbles).

He soon discovered that the area was a perfect way to explore radically different color systems and techniques of historical glass.

He quickly became obsessed with marbles. His design inspirations come from many places.

Some designs come from the study of ancient marbles; Most designs are drawn from historical glass techniques that had never been used in a format marble.

The glass (II).

Inputs for manufacturing the glass powder prepared as to be heated beyond its melting point to about 1700 ° C to be dissolved in water, hydrochloric acid and sulfuric fluorine, forming a layer of silica in combination with oxygen preventing the reaction from proceeding.

This was the clear message from the surveys of 1,217 exhibitors at Glasstec 2014.

The rehabilitation of the covers of the National Glass Centre (CNV) of San Ildefonso will be completed for the month of December.

Sources in the School of Industrial Organization (EOI), which manages the Royal Glass Factory, explained that the intervention covers progressing well, according to the planned project.

Three centuries of history

The Royal Glass Factory was built with the arrival of the Bourbon dynasty in Spain in 1727, where King Philip V of Spain

"Three centuries of

sculpture" is an exhibition

conceived as an overview of

the history of the Spanish

monumental sculpture.

The exhibition runs through

original bronze sculptures,

scale models, molds clay,

plaster and silicone, a

hundred pieces of statuary

cast by the firm Codina from

1892 until today.

Gabriel José Astudillo says

the show "is actually a

celebration of the bronze as

a matter of artistic

transformation, which in the

hands of Codina Foundry

becomes a universal art, a

pleasure for the spirit and the

triumph of standing on the

ephemeral ".

The day began October 24 in the auditorium of the First Cycle MAVA Classical Guitar "Castle Valdez"

The cycle consists of five concerts that will develop in consecutive Friday through November 21.

In this first cycle event attended by Russian Anton Yuzhanin and Sergio jienense Trillo.

Anton was born in 1985 in St. Petersburg, Russia.

From 2001 to 2005 he studied guitar at the College of Music in Moscow, where he studied with Alexander Vinitsky, and from 2005-2010 was a student of Academy of Music Gnesin, also in Moscow, Dmitry Illarionov class.

From 2011 he studied at the Madrid Royal Conservatory in class of Professor Javier Somoza.

He has participated in master classes by Stepan Rak, Zoran Dukic, Jeffrey McFadden, Marco Tamayo, Pablo Sainz

Villegas, Mauricio Diaz Alvarez and Maria Esther Guzman, among others.

He has participated in international courses "Music in Compostela" (Santiago de Compostela) in 2006, 2007 and 2009 receiving guitar lessons from José Luis Rodrigo.

He participated in the concert series IES Santa Teresa (Madrid) for 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons. He has performed solo guitar at Casa de Canarias (Madrid) and the Casa de Asturias (Madrid).

In March 2014 made a recording in Classical Radio RNE in the program "Youth Music".

Sergio Trillo was born on July 31, 1991 in Ávila.

At age 8 he made the entrance exam to the conservatory Tomás Luis de Victoria, Avila, which scored # 1 in his class.

At this time she began studying classical guitar under the tutelage of

Professor Luis Sanjuan Pernas.

He has taken master classes and conducted specialized courses with great figures of his instrument, both in Spain and in Germany.

Extends program official studies, receiving teachings flamenco teacher Jerome Utrilla in Seville.

He has participated in various competitions and national and international competitions, obtaining very important results.

On October 31, the second

concert of Classical Guitar

Series I "Castle Valdez" was

held in the auditorium of our

Museum.

The concert was played by

Raul de Frutos, born in

Segovia, where he began his

musical studies at the

Conservatory of that city,

earning several academic

awards and excellent ratings.

He finished his studies in

guitar at the 1994 Madrid

Royal Conservatory under

Professor Miguel Angel

Jimenez, obtaining

certification of Senior

Professor of Guitar.

He later made courses with

masters such as Jose Luis

Rodrigo, David Russell, Alirio

Diaz and Gerardo Arriaga,

among others.

He was drafted by the Junta

de Castilla y León in the

cycle "Youth in Concert" to

provide, in December 1995,

a concert in Salamanca.

It operates on musical

performer, both solo as a

member of various chamber

music groups, such as the

Guitar Trio "with Fret" and

the duet "Harlequin" in such

diverse settings as the

Ateneo, the Centro Cultural

de la Villa the Palacio de

Congresos and the Juan

March Foundation in Madrid

Segovia also works with

He has also worked on

various recording projects,

both performer and arranger.

Municipal School of Music in

Pinto (Madrid), since 1998.

Fragile but strong. These two

antagonistic terms used to

describe the work of the

collective exhibition of

glassmakers Segovia can be

seen in the Art & Wine

Arandina room.

A group of seven artists, each

with their own style and

engaging in a different

discipline, show the work that

can be performed with such a

delicate glass material.

This art form is little or nothing

known in our country, where

there is a misconception that

this material is reserved for

crockery and glassware or to

give life to the windows.

"Outside Spain, the glass is of

great importance in France

and Germany there are many

schools and museums, but

here almost no books are

found," Llorente regrets

"The colors are the most

appealing addition to their

fragility, with paint, whether oil

paintings or watercolors, not

so bright colors are achieved;

light, which is used as the

artist wants, "says Llorente.

In the exhibition you can see

pieces of jewelry, recycled

blown glass, stained glass and

sculptures to the casting

technique.

Glass Box, a new installation

created especially for the

occasion by the architectural

The Cartier Foundation

building designed by Jean

Nouvel is used as raw material

for his work for the first time in

the history of the institution.

Musings on a Glass Box /

Reflections on a Glass Box is

a complex job that occupies

the entire ground floor of the

Cartier Foundation, where an

alteration in the ceiling will

trigger a surprising reaction.

The result is an immersive

environment that includes a

comprehensive acoustic

component of American

composer David Lang and

Jody Elff sound designer, who

works with the architecture of

the building to raise questions

about transparency, perception

Sacred art in its many

manifestations, aims not only to

decorate the temples and

churches, but to provide a

catechetical experience through

different artistic expressions to

illustrate the Gospel message.

The 65 windows of the Cathedral

of Segovia faithfully fulfill this

goal, as they could well see the

participants in the Business

Cycle "Heritage Sunday",

organized by the Municipal

Tourism, that after the summer

break gave the penultimate visits

tour of one of the most important

sets of glaziers heritage of

Spain.

Participants in the visit counted

as a guide for this tour with

Laura Pizarro Zoido degree in Art

History from the University of

Salamanca and titled upper

glass at the National Glass

Centre Foundation, which beat

out the artistic and technical

features of the windows of the

Cathedral.

Pizarro Zoido feature the

iconographic cycle of the

windows of the cathedral, in

which episodes of the Passion

and Death of Christ united with

Old Testament stories both in the

windows of the nave and in the

The Royal Glass Factory

devotes a large part of their

management training within

the School of Glass.

Three weeks we began the

new academic year 2014-

2015 in the center, although

enrollments have declined

significantly compared to

previous years.

Thus, it has not received

sufficient demand for

interested students to meet

this year to the first year of

Higher Grade Glass.

Thus, currently are enrolled

The curriculum comprises

four academic years of 60

credits per year, meaning

that students take a total of

240 credits of the European

Credit Transfer System

(ECTS), the end of Grade.

These credits are distributed

among core subjects,

compulsory subjects of art,

electives, and a final project.

One of the main attractions

of the School of Glass is its

privileged location in the

historic building that houses

since the eighteenth century,

the Royal Glass Factory of

La Granja de San Ildefonso.

Students and teachers share

space and facilities with

traditional glass factory,

which began in the Age of

Enlightenment.

This coexistence is a unique

and exceptional educational

experience where students

are in contact with the

business and professional

world of glass in modern

history and full facilities, in

which museum, from the first

day, the collection of

traditional pieces

complements a unique

exhibition of contemporary

art glass.

The Royal Factory remains a

unique landmark in art

education and glass

technology, as evidenced by

The show was created with

the clear aim to surprise

visitors with a new way of

seeing and understanding

Crystallography, through

an aesthetic and haunting

image that triggers

curiosity.

It consists of 14 panels

proposed, each of them an

content linked to the world

of crystallography.
