    Members of Hope have long purchased thepoinsettia as a way to decorate the church incelebration of Christmas.

    You may purchase a plant in honor of a specialperson in your life or in memory of a loved one.

    The signup sheet is located at the Welcome Table.You may place your payment in the offering or sendit to the church office. Checks should be madepayable to Hope Lutheran Church.

    Please specify Red or White. The cost is $7.25 foreach plant. The last day to order is TODAY! Weask that you wait until after the Christmas Eveservice to take yours home.

    What is normal adolescent behavior, and what

    is cause for concern?Adolescence is a time of great change and turmoil,both for kids and for their parents. Sometimes it'shard to differentiate what changes are part of normal development, and what changes aresymptoms of larger problems. In this session, we'lltalk about what normal adolescent developmentlooks like and about some of the mental healthconcerns that kids face including anxiety,depression, eating disorders, and addiction.

    Christmas Giving Dinner December 1 st and 2 nd Only

    Freedom Square Diner will open its doors from

    3 p.m. to 9 p.m. for a special Holiday dinner!

    The proceeds from this special Christmas menu will be donated to Gleaners Food Bank. Gleaners will

    then provide Holiday meals for their clients.

    Last year, this event resulted in a $3,000 donation to the food bank!

    Hopes Helpers needs your Help!

    What: We are going to decorate king-sized pillowcasesin Christmas theme for Childrens Hospital.

    When: Friday December 11, 9:00 - 11:00 am.

    Who: Anyone who wants to eat cookies, decoratepillowcases and listen to Christmas carols.

    Please bring - if you can - a pre-washed king-sizedpillow case. Also - if you like - bring along things todecorate the pillowcases. Supplies will be provided forall to use.

    The following are the guidelines from CHP:

    We have found non-toxic fabric crayons, non-toxic fabricbrush markers or acrylic paints brushed on work well. Puffypaints may be used only if brushed on. (If squirted on, puffypaints may peel off and become a choking hazard). Even withpainting pillow cases, safety is our priority.

    If you cannot attend - but would like to help, donationsof pre-washed pillowcases would be appreciated.

    Don't forget that there is still time to request anAdopt-A-Family, receive a general shelter wish list,or purchase gift cards for the Victim OutreachIntervention Center. If you are interested indonating for the upcoming Christmas holidays inany way, please contact VOICe at 724.776.5910 or

    Come "Home for the Holidays," hear the harp andorgan, join in carol sing-alongs, and listen to a little"Jingle Bell Rock." In contrast, enjoy a beautifulrendition of the Benjamin Britten "Ceremony of Carols!"

    The Angel Tree isHERE!!

    You will find our annual Angel Tree in the narthex.We especially ask that you take an angel this year asmany of the charitable organizations areexperiencing fewer contributions. Our congregationhas been so blessed!

    Take an angel and spread good will and the spirit of giving this year to others! Most of the angels arechildren ages 5 months to 17 years from VOICe(blue for boys and red for girls). VOICe is the localVictim Outreach and Intervention Center that Hopesponsors in many ways. The gifts for the VOICechildren should be returned no later than Sunday,December 13.

    In addition, we have decided to add Passasavantangels as well to the tree for residents at thePassavant Retirement Community. These angelsare green and have a list of items to choose from.We are asking that the Passavant gifts be under thetree by Sunday, December 6 (next weekend) soour youth can take them that evening when theyhelp spread some holiday cheer to the residents.For the Passavant gifts, please mark with aremovable tag the contents of the package (andsize).

    All gifts must be wrapped and include the angel tagwith the number as well. Please call Diana Munn at724.272.1459 if you have any questions. Thank you and have a blessed Christmas season.
