Welcome to the inaugural issue of Nourish! It is with great
excitement that I put this first issue to bed. Nourish was born
out of a desire to have more spiritual magazines available to
read. I love the current ones that are out and about. From
them I glean nuggets of knowledge to add to my every ex‐
panding mind. My grandfather always said it was a poor day
when we did not learn something new. I love to learn, I love
to read others thoughts and see what it awakens within me. I
have always liked to write and a long while ago had a dream
to one day write a book. I opted instead to share what I have
learned, what comes to me from my gang and spirit in the
form of a magazine. For perhaps something I have experi‐
enced can help others, or they will have something to share
with me that will enrich my life.
I welcome all ideas, and sugges ons for what would make
this a great magazine. Have a comment, posi ve or construc‐
ve cri cism? Please share, for through that Nourish can
grow. If you would like to contribute to Nourish, at this me
remunera on cannot be paid, but a reduced rate on adver s‐
ing will be extended. All ar cles submi ed will be considered

"Our Beliefs have the power to change the flow of events in the universe -
literally to interrupt and redirect time, matter and space, and the events that
occur within them."
Each month there will be a quote to start of f Nourish. Something
that hopefully will make you ponder and think of how it applies to
your life. Or how it could apply to you.
This month’s quote is from Greg Braden’s
Spontaneous Healing of Belief
“QUOTE”
Today the entire universe is lined up to support my
well-being.

Archangel Chamuel is most commonly known as the angel of love and compassion. (S)He can be helpful in dealing with communica on issues, rela on‐ships, ethnic and racial tension, and to assist in situa ons where we are looking for things we have lost, or cannot find. As a channel for messages from Chamuel, I have found he has a strong desire to support the opening of our heart chakra,
especially at this cri cal me in our development.... "Welcome, Dear Heart, to this new publica on, designed to nourish you on all levels, and to these words, shared in love and charity with all who are aware of their human journey. At this moment you are invited to take a deep and conscious breath, and to allow the safe and sacred energy of the an‐gelic realms to envelop you. These are indeed magnificent mes, filled with challenges, as you are fully aware, but filled
also with poten als so awesome that you cannot be fully aware of them.... not yet. Today I wish to share a glimpse into these poten als with you. It is important to note first that all that you are becoming is already within you. It is not "out there", and it most certainly is not "up there"! The awesome being that you are evolving into is already you. You are simply evolving to the point where you are able to see yourself for who you are. You see, the process you are going through, and everyone who is reading this or hearing this is definitely going through this process, well, the process is more le ng go of who you are not, of who you thought you were, and of who you were told you were, than it is of becoming anything new or different or be er. Your greatest work at this me is to release the ideas and beliefs that are keeping you from knowing the truth of yourself. This is work of the highest order, and everyone is taking it on in the way that is most appropriate for them. So have no judgement of others in this regard. This is a complex process and it cannot be completed in a single genera on, though many individu‐als are managing to accomplish it within their life me. It does not serve you to look outside yourself for the answers to your greatest ques ons. No other person can provide your solu ons or be your yards ck. They can be your men‐tors, and you may use their example as you gather experi‐ences, but you yourself are unique and so what you are
looking for can only be found within you. There is much more to be said on this subject, and we will explore many aspects of this in the months to come. For today, I wish to share a clue related to the "how" of your becoming. It is laughter. Genuine, spontaneous laughter that is not at the expense of another person is a signal. It is signalling truth. And since truth is most o en a paradox, it makes great fod‐der for humour. Truth's paradoxes are exceedingly amusing to the human psyche, and since each or you is unique, this is why you don't all laugh at the same things. So pay a en on to the mes you are moved to laughter. Create opportuni‐es for laughter to surface in your day. You may begin with
a smile, but the goal is honest, unrestrained belly laughter. Do not over‐analyze the process. Simply savour it. And then allow yourself to imagine what life would be like if you laughed every day, at every opportunity. Imagine laughing at home, at work, in the grocery store and in the car. See yourself laughing as you take out the garbage, balance your bank statement, and stand in the shower, as you deal with your neighbors, your children, your partner, your colleagues, your boss. See laughter permea ng every aspect of your rou ne. This is where you are going. The truth of the joy of life is an inevitable part of moving forward. Can you imagine all situa ons in your life filled with lightness and humour, even those that are now difficult and causing you stress? Find ways to bring laughter into those situa ons, and you will open the door to the truth of who you are. This will re‐quire that you think about things in different ways and act in different ways than you are currently doing, but laughter is a powerful tool for propelling you out of the mould you have cast yourself in, and into the vibrant essence that is your true self. Joy is a fundamental aspect of who you are be‐coming, and laughter is a bridge."

Dove flew into my life this past week. I have
always been fascinated with animals, and since my
spiritual journey began
they have come to
mean more. In many
beliefs animals can be
totem or power ani‐
mals. They are consid‐
ered by many messen‐
gers of spirit. By look‐
ing at the characteris‐
cs of the animals that
walk, fly, or swim into our lives we can gain valuable
messages that apply to our lives at that me. When I
have an animal cross my path, no ma er how
miniscule (it could be an ant) the first thing I do is no‐
ce what they mean to me. How they make me feel.
What is going on in my life. I take an instant snap‐
shot .
Dove flew by me very par cularly as if to make
sure I did not miss her. I felt an instant connec on to
spirit, then no ced how pure white she was. Like ala‐
baster almost translucent. My next thought was
“Touched by an Angel” as that was their signature at
the end of each show. As I had not really researched
Doves the only things I could associate with them
were peace, love and I included joy as that is what I
felt at the moment of seeing her. I went to one of my
books on animals and discovered Doves symbolized
Feminine energies of peace, Maternity, and Prophecy.
I thought, ok, not sure how that applies to me at this
me but will sit with it. I obviously
did not get the message as each day
she came to me.
More research was required to dig out the
message she was here to give me. While digging into
the depths of Dove I discovered an interes ng fact/
legend. Doves must return each evening to a watering
hole or spring to drink. Man has been able to find wa‐
ter sources, which is essen al to human survival by
following the doves song.
The message that came to me was that no
ma er where we are in our lives there is always a way
to find what we need. Not what we want but our es‐
sen al needs. If we look at every possible op on, and
follow the signs that are around us, our needs will be
met. To take a look at my life right now and truly see I
have it pre y good. My needs are being met, and to
be very grateful for that. Wants are dreams we all
have, and while dreaming and aspiring to have a
be er life is great, we need to take me out and ap‐
preciate what, where and who we are in each mo‐
ment. It is in constant change, every evolving, but ba‐
sically our needs are being met, and our dreams are
bringing hope for the future. Two more messages
came that resonated with me at this me.
1) You are experiencing spiritual renewal that’s the
result of a period of intense self‐examina on and
challenges.—Meaning I am the one ques oning
where I am going, who I am, and what I want to
achieve.
2) It is important to nurture yourself with loving care.
—Meaning take care of me and my needs will be
met.

Chakras
Defined & Balanced VeraEnshaw
Chakras are energy centers that connect our
physical bodies with our higher selves, with
the Universe. There are hundreds of chakras
on our bodies, but there are several that are
tradi onally recognized as the most im‐
portant. Those people who have the ability to
see chakras report that they look like small
tornadoes, or very intense energy moving in a
circular, usually clock‐wise direc on.
The first chakra is known as the
ROOT chakra. It is found at the base of the
spine. The colour associated with the chakra is
red, the symbol is a square and the sound is
LA (sounded l‐l‐l‐l‐l‐l‐ahhhhhh).
The second chakra is the SPLEEN or
NAVEL chakra. It is found halfway between
the pubis & the navel (about two fingers be‐
low the bellybu on). The colour associated
with this chakra is orange, the symbol is a pyr‐
amid with the capstone off, the sound is BA.
The third chakra is the SOLAR PLEX‐
US chakra. It is at the “V” in the ribs at the
stomach. The colour is yellow, symbol is a cir‐
cle, the sound is RA.
The fourth chakra is the HEART
chakra. It is in the center of the chest. The
colour associated with the chakra is green, the
symbol is a cross, the sound is YM.
The fi h chakra is the “new” chakra
– so called because it has been a minor chakra
un l recently. Between the heart center &
the throat is a gland called the THYMUS. It is a
so spot amid a lot of bone! The colour is tur‐
quoise, the symbol is a rose, the sound is RM.
The sixth chakra is the THROAT
chakra – found right at the throat! The sym‐
bol is a chalice (like a pewter wine glass, only
with handles on each side), the colour is rob‐
in’s egg blue, and the sound is HA.
The seventh chakra is the BROW or THIRD
EYE chakra, and is found in the forehead. Not
everyone’s 3rd eye chakra is in the middle of
the forehead – if you want to find out where
yours is point your index finger at your fore‐
head, and with the intent to find your 3rd eye,
move your finger towards your head. It will
connect with your 3rd eye – and that spot will
be somewhat sensi ve. The colour associated
with the 3rd eye chakra is indigo (blueberry!),
the symbol is a 6‐pointed star (the Star of Da‐
vid) and the sound is AH.
The eighth chakra is the CROWN
chakra. It is found on the top of the head.
The colour associated with this chakra is vio‐
let, the symbol is the lotus flower and the
sound is OM.

There are many good books available on chak‐
ras. Each one has slightly different informa on, de‐
pending on the author and her/his training, but most
of them are fairly consistent. I do not know of any that
include the Thymus chakra, but the informa on is out
there should you choose to look for it.
A great exercise is to sit quietly, focus your
a en on on your chakras, beginning with the root
chakra. See the colour, then the symbol, and allow the
sound to flow from your lips (this takes a bit of prac‐
ce, but it’s fun!) Feel the colour flowing out of the
chakra as you tone, and allow it to circle around you.
Con nue with each of the chakras in turn. This takes
about 10 minutes total, is very rejuvena ng and bal‐
ancing. When you get very adept at doing this, you
can experiment with having all of the colours there at
the same me, so that by the end you have a rainbow
of colour swirling around you! What a great connec‐
on between yourself & source! This exercise has the
added benefit of balancing your chakras—the combi‐
na on of movement, colour and sound works won‐
ders!

BALSAMICVINEGAR Characteris cs: This rich, tart vinegar with its overlay of sweetness has been enjoyed by the Italians for centu‐ries, though it has only come to the North American table in re‐cent decades. Balsamic vinegar is o en labeled a wine vinegar, but it is not made from wine at all, rather from the pressings of sweet white Trebbiano grapes, and is as much an improve‐ment to the palate and the health over wine vinegar as wine vinegar is to its lowly cousin, white vinegar. True balsamic vinegar is aged at least 3 and 12 years, with the finest speci‐mens aged up to 100 years or more, making them very ex‐pensive, but well worth their price. Process: The vinegar is condi oned by the previous vinegar in the bar‐rel ('mother"), the types of wood the barrel is made of, the climate and the length of me it has been aged. Colour and taste are enhanced by years of aging in a successive number of barrels made of various types of wood, which may include oak, mulberry, chestnut, cherry juniper, ash and acacia. The vinegar matures in the wooden barrels, and as volume de‐creases through evapora on, the liquor is transferred to suc‐cessively smaller barrels, each with its own blend of aroma c flavouring woods. The barrels are kept warm in summer and cool in winter, and over me the finest balsamic vinegar emerges. Beware: the commercial balsamic sold in super‐markets today is typically made with red wine vinegar or con‐centrated grape juice and mixed with strong vinegar that has been laced with caramel and sugar. Flavour and health bene‐fits are dras cally reduced under these circumstances.
How to Buy Great Balsamic Vinegar: 1. Price ‐ You get what you pay for with Balsamic vinegar. A reasonable small bo le will cost at least $10. 2. Ingredients ‐ Avoid bo les the indicate the addi on of sug‐ar, ar ficial flavourings or colourings. 3. Age ‐ Since the produc on of real balsamic takes me, it will almost certainly display its age on the bo le. Look for a minimum of 3 years, which is considered young, but can s ll be palatable. Health Benefits: 1. To reduce overall fat and calorie intake, and to help sup‐press appe te, subs tute balsamic for commercial and may‐onnaise‐based salad dressings. 2. Balsamic has an ‐bacterial and an ‐viral proper es for trea ng wounds and infec ons. 3. Balsamic has been used by folk healers to cure body pain and as an energizer. 4. The an ‐oxidant polyphenols in balsamic slow aging by figh ng cell damage and boos ng the immune system. 5. Balsamic improves metabolism by helping to boost the ac vity of the diges ve enzyme pepsin. 6. Balsamic vinegar may help control diabetes. Adding 5 tea‐spoons to a meal can improve insulin sensi vity, which means be er diabetes control and less risk of dangerous complica‐ons.
7. Balsamic contains minerals to strengthen bones. 8. Balsamic can reduce cholesterol levels. 9. It can help prevent anemia, fa gue, and reduce frequency of headaches. Uses: Balsamic vinegar can be an effec ve marinade for tenderizing meat. It can also be used as a seasoning, a salad dressing, in sauces and over fruits, especially strawberries and peaches. The vinegar can be applied topically to control infec on, and taken internally as a general tonic.

Therapeu c grade peppermint essen al oil has SO many
uses. It may help relieve headaches, indiges on and hot
flashes.
When I have a headache I put a drop of peppermint oil on
my finger ps and massage some on my temples and
some on the back of my neck. The headache is gone
within minutes!
Tummy ache? I put a drop of peppermint oil in my hand
and rub my stomach and/or abdomen. Discomfort usually
disappears in minutes.
Hot flash? Oh, yeah – works for me and many others! I
put a drop of oil on my finger ps and rub it into the bump
on my spine just below my neck. This is the body’s
temperature gauge. Cooling peppermint essen al oil
cools that hot flash in no me!
A couple of notes about essen al oils:
Be very careful NOT to put oils directly on your
skin (or in your mouth!) unless you know they
are cer fied therapeu c grade. Even then you
may want to dilute with an organic carrier oil
such as sweet almond oil or grape seed oil.
Be very careful NOT to get the oil in your eyes, as it burns like the dickens! I use my baby fingers
for the job – I’m not likely to put them in my
eyes. Therapeu c grade Essen al Oils are
available for you to purchase ‐ you can contact
me for further informa on.

Summer is in full swing and many of us have gardens or at least flower pots that we are tending to. Keeping out the weeds and bugs, ensuring they are ge ng enough water and shielding tender plants from too
much heat or cool evenings. A garden no ma er how big or small can give great joy. The mir‐acle of being able to grow some‐thing from a seed or small sprout of a plant into something that blossoms and bears flowers, fruit or vegetables gives a sense of pride and self‐worth. Tending to our mind, body and soul can be equally rewarding. Many people take great pride in tending their being garden, yet o en that garden gets le to fate. Do we nourish our garden as much as we should? Do we over nourish it? The balance between being healthy or over saturated on any one level is very minuscule. Our bodies need not only fuel to keep us going, they need regular workouts, and water. Our minds are amazing technical instruments much like a computer and need to be updated, defragged, and de‐compressed o en. Our souls need to have our bodies and minds working op mally in order to communicate to us. When we connect with our soul
we are indeed tending our garden well. Think of the soul as the sun that shines down on our garden and helps us to grow. The soul has invaluable informa on to help us grow. Take a walk around your garden
and see what areas you could use
a prune, some water, or cul ‐
va ng. Remember beau ful gar‐
dens take lots of dedicated tend‐
ing, but the rewards are well
worth it. A garden also does not
grow overnight it is a long process
from plan ng the seed, to har‐
ves ng the fruits so don’t look for
the quick fix as you might be dis‐
couraged. Instead make it a habit
to cul vate your body, mind and
soul daily.

To order your Send an Angel
please contact:
Dear Merrlina,
Can I please request a reading?
Recently it seems things are not
going my way. Things start to go
well and then take a turn for the
worst. I feel I have no sense of
direc on. I feel lost, can you ask
my angels for some guidance.
Thanks
JP
Dear JP;
The first message your angels
prac cally yelled at me was to
keep the faith, don’t give up 5
minutes before the miracle! Right
now you are going through a peri‐
od of growth. At this me the
angels are guiding you to take a
look at your life and figure out
what you want. Where you want
to go and what you believe in. It
comes down to your truth and
integrity; Are you living in align‐
ment with your being or are you
figh ng who you are to fit in? The
angels suggest some me to con‐
nect with nature and spirit to help
with this process right now. Slow
down they are saying, you are not
in a race, but rather on a journey
to discover yourself and what you
boundaries are. Medita on and
prayer would benefit you right
now. Through this quiet me no‐
ce any ideas or thoughts that
float to you. Is there an area in
your life which you are being less
than truthful to yourself about?
Are you giving away your power
to another? What do you desire?
To bring the serenity back into
your life, and feel like you are
back on the path in the right di‐
rec on, take some me and see
where you jumped off. What
happened when you first no ced
you felt this way? That is the
star ng point. That will be the
clue to bringing you back to cen‐
ter. Peace is yours, and you have
the power to create balance in
your life. Your angels remind you
that you are a powerful person,
one who is very much loved, and
that you will get through this spell
and see brighter days ahead.
When you feel lost, ask us for di‐
rec ons, we are only to happy to
help.

YYou’re si ng with a group of people, enjoying a
weekend coffee, and someone says “Wow, that
guy’s sure got weird energy, eh?” Others nod in
response, but you’re thinking, “I dunno—he seems
OK to me!” What’s going on? What are you
missing…..and what are they seeing?
Energy. You hear about it, read about it, you might
even be someone who’s aware of it. What we are
discussing here is the force that inhabits all things,
be it animate or inanimate. Every single thing that
exists, from thoughts to rocks, is energy. If it exists
it vibrates, if it vibrates it has energy. If you’ve
thought of it, it exists. (Wow! Think on that for a
while!) And, if it vibrates, the energy that is
produced is o en readable. Probably always
readable, even if not by everyone. The fun part
about this life is that every person has had a
different life experience, so each person’s reading
of energy is o en unique. Makes it difficult to get a
consensus of opinion!
So….what are they seeing (reading) in the man at
the coffee shop? If you were to shut off all the
noise and distrac ons around you and just observe
him, you might no ce that he appears
uncomfortable. He stays a marked distance away
from others, looks beyond people rather than at
them. And, because you are focusing on him, you
begin to feel a bit uneasy yourself—even though
you are in familiar and comfortable surroundings.
You are now sensing his energy ‐ he is on edge
and—hmm—unhappy? While you don’t get
“weird,” you do sense that he somehow different
from the rest of the customers.
That’s just the p of the iceberg! Once you become
aware of the currents of energy you may have a
hard me staying focused on your everyday life!
Most—if not all—of us are empathic. That means
that we have awareness of what others around us
are feeling or experiencing. Some of us, in order to
protect ourselves from something very intense that
we have not been taught to manage, have closed
the door on this incredible world. Fortunately, it is
a door that can be re‐opened at any point! In the
following months I will have exercises designed to
help you unlock and open that door, expanding
your awareness of
energy and your enjoyment
of life!

Tourmaline is a unique stone in that it comes in a variety of col‐ors. Egyp an legend tells the tale that while tourmaline was mov‐ing up to the earth’s surface from her core, it passed through a rain‐bow. Hence why today we are able to purchase green, black, pink, watermelon, red and blue tourmalines. Tourmaline is known as the Rainbow gemstone.
It has the capacity to work with the chakra its color aligns with. All the colors work with the heart chakra, and help open it to love. Think of tourmaline as the clear‐ing stone. It helps to clear out the aura, it can bring calming en‐ergies to the person wearing or carrying it. It has been called the crystal of happiness, joy, and laughter. Tourmaline can help clear out the nega ve and bring on the posi ve. Black tourmaline is very good as a grounding stone.
If you don’t own any tourmaline, find yourself a piece that speaks to you. Pack it around and see if you no ce a difference in your energy.
All earth crystals are beau ful and are said to have healing proper es that can help in areas of our lives. Personally I like to pack a small pouch in my pocket with various crystals. They help to keep me centred , calm and bring joy just knowing I can pull them out and look at them during my day. I have felt the effects of carrying crystals around. And while some naysayers would say that my mind is telling my body they are making a difference. If that is the case I would s ll pack crystals for they do speak to me. I have seen the effects they can have on people who see only a pre y rock to hold. I purchase crystals that speak to me, and usually end up giving many away to people who need a boost in their day.
