NOTIFICATIONSubject: Guidelines for admission ro vacant seats in 2nd Year (3'd Semester) in degree level engineering,

technology, architecrure and pharmacy courses rhrough Decentralized Counseling process

under Lateral Entrv Scheme of AICTE for the academic year 2017-18.

Whereas, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB), vide Notification No. WB/

RegCN-02 5ll7 datedl8.O8.20t7 has already published the necessary Guidelines for admission to 2"d Year (3'd

Semester) of under graduare degree level Engineering 6s Technology programmes in the academic year 2017-18

through the State Common Entrance Examination for the said programmme (i.e. JELET'2C17).

And

Whereas, in the said Guidelines the West Bengal Joint Entrzrnce Exarninations Board (WBJEEB) has already

notified necessary venue, period of counseling, application procedure, counseling. fee, eligrbiliry criteria,

reservarion policy as well as other relevanr information towards admission -in 2"o Year (3'o Semester) of

under graduate level Engfneenng [c Technology programmes in the academic year 2017-18.

And

Whereas in rhe said guidelines it has been mentioned that candidates wili be required to take admission to

the allotred University / Insdrutes within five days from the date of allotment.

And

Whereas it has been observed that a reasonable number of seats in t-he second year ievei are still vacant after

rhe completion of such allotment and admission process in different pafiicipating Universities and Instirutes

of the State offering under graduate level Engineering [q Technology programmes.

And

Now, therefore it is clarified that on completion of the centralized counseling and admission process, it has

been decided by the State Govt. in the Higher Education Department ro allow all the participating

Universities and Insdrutes of the State for admission of srudents through de-centralized counseling and

allotment process in strict compliance with the norrns and guidelines as stated below:

2017-18:

1.0 The seats remaining vacant in rhe second year level will be open fgr admission through decenrralized

counseling r", irr. Srudents of dipt_o-u hotder in Engineeti"! ec Technology Programmes as well as

B.Sc passed following rhe same grrid.Iirr., in terms of"eiigibili[r criterion fordifferent Universities and

Insdrutes.

2.0 The participating universities and Instirures willing to admit students through such decentraltzed

counseling pro..r. shall have to follow a complete transparent admission procedure by inviting

appiication f.o- rh" diploma holder srudents in Engineering {c Technology progr:ammes from AICTE

approved Insdrutions and B.Sc. passed srudents from UGC Recognized insdrutions by posting

necessary notice with discipline wise vacancy position in their respective Notice Board and/or the

Instirudonal website.

The candidates will be offered the said vacant seats in the following order of preference:

Candidates with JELE'T-2)IT Rank who are otherwise eligible for admission to 2"d year of Under

Graduate level programmes in Engineering [c Technology courses as per the Norms and Guidelines

provided by the AICTE will be grven the first preference. Admission must be made strictly on merit

andpreference.

Candidates with diploma in Engineering [c Technology from AICTE approved instirudons who are

otherwise eligible for admission under the scheme, will be given che second preference.

Candidares wirh B.Sc. degree from UGC Recognized Instirutions who are otherwise eligible for

admission under the scheme, will be glven the next preference.

For the candidates under the caregory 3.I and 3.2 the list of equivalent disciplines as given hereunder

has to be followed:
