NOTICE OF RACE 10-16 MAY 2015

Nautor’s Swan, Gazprom Swan 60 Class and Club Nautico Scarlino are pleased to announce the 2015 Swan 60 World Championship

1. ORGANIZING AUTHORITY & VENUE

2. RULES

1. The regatta will be governed by: a.TherulesasdefinedintheRacingRulesofSailing b. Gazprom Swan 60 Class Rules (Swan 60 only) c. Offshore Special Regulation (OSR) category 3 Monohull

2. IntheeventofanyconflictbetweenthisNoticeofRaceandtheSailingInstructions,theSailing Instructions will take precedence. This changes RRS 63.7.

3. Aninternationaljurywillbeappointedanditsdecisionswillbefinal,asprovidedinRRS70.5.

4. No national prescriptions will apply.

3. ADVERTISING

Boats may display advertising in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20, Advertising Code. Boats shall display event advertising in compliance with ISAF Regulation 20, Advertising Code, and as detailed in the Sailing Instructions.

4. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRIES

The regatta is open to all Swan 60 Class yachts and all Swan 601 yachts.

Eligible yachts may enter by completing the attached form and sending it to Club Nautico Scarlino ([email protected]) to be received not later than 6 pm on 29 March 2015, together with the entry fee.

Late entries (received later than the date and time indicated above) may be accepted by the Organising Authority in its unfettered discretion on payment of the additional entry fee referred to below. No entries will be accepted by the Organising Authority unless accompanied by the appropriate entry fee. Please note the requirement to pay the entry fee one week before the closing date for entries.

Crew – The maximum number of crew shall not be greater than 14. The crew shall consist of no more than 6 persons either unclassified or classified as group 3 under ISAFRegulation 22, SailorClassification.AnadditionalGroup3crewmemberwhoistheapprovedboatcaptainmaybepartofthe crew.

5. ENTRY FEE

Required entry fee is: € 1,200.00. The late entry fee is an additional €400.

The entry fee should be sent, not later than 29 March, by bank transfer to Club Nautico Scarlino.

6. CREW LIST, HELMSMEN, INSPECTION, REGISTRATION

1. Swan60crewlists,withavalidISAFclassificationsofallcrewmembersshallbesubmittedtothe Class Manager no later than 24 April, using the form attached to the entry form. Late crew lists may be accepted at the unfettered discretion of the Organizing Authority. Crew lists will be posted on the OfficialNoticeBoardnolaterthan12Mayat16.00.Classificationprotesttime-limitis1200on13May.


2. Swan 60 charterers shall request the permission of the Class Manager to helm and Owners and Charterers shall request the permission of the class manager for the appointment of a Relief Helmsman during the event, in accordance with Class Rule C2.4, C2.5 and C2.6 not later than 17 April.

3. Before registration, all yachts (both Swan 60 and Swan 601) will be inspected by a member of the inspection team. Yachts may make an appointment with the Class Manager. Each yacht shall be present from 10.00 on 10 May.

4. Registration shall be completed by 10.00, 12 May.

The event (both Swan 60 and Swan 601) is an Owner/Driver event.

The maximum number of crew members (both Swan 60 and Swan 601) allowed onboard will be as provided in the Swan 60 Class Rules.

All Swan 601 yachts entering the event shall have:

a. Providedavalidthird-partyliabilityinsurancewithadequatecovertakingintoaccountthevalue of the boats racing. A minimum cover of € 1,000,000.00 or equivalent is the minimum required.

b. SubmittedacopyofavalidIRCMeasurementCertificate

c. Provided a completed full crew list

All Gazprom Swan 60 yachts shall have:

a. Providedavalidthird-partyliabilityinsurancewithadequatecovertakingintoaccountthevalue of the boats racing. A minimum cover of € 1,000,000.00 or equivalent is requested.

b. SubmittedavalidGazpromSwan60ClassODCertificate

c. Provided evidence that the Owner or the Charterer Class Membership fees have been paid

d. Confirmed that the yacht’s sails have been declared and stamped with the official event identification

e. ProvidedacompletedfullcrewlistwithISAFClassification

Nine races including the Long Distance Race are scheduled with a maximum of three races a day.


8. MEASUREMENTS

The RC holds the right to conduct inspections, at its discretion, on board yachts before and after each race.

Gazprom Swan 60 Class Rule C 11.2 (a) is amended to: Not more than 1 mainsail, 2 headsails, 2 spinnakers,1OSRHeavyWeatherJib,1OSRStormJiband1OSRStormTrysail(mandatorywithnon-OSR compliant reefable mainsails) shall be carried onboard.

Gazprom Swan 60 Class Rule C.11.2 (b) is amended to: No additional sails may be presented for equipment inspection or used in the event.

IntheeventofsignificantdamageorotherexceptionalcircumstanceswrittenpermissionoftheRaceCommittee, who may consult the Swan 60 Chief Measurer, is required for the substitution of sails.

The Swan 60 sail limitations shall also apply to the Swan 601.

9. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

SailingInstructionswillbeavailabletocompetitorsatregistrationattheRaceOffice.

10. RACING AREAS

The Inshore Races will take place in the waters close to the Marina di Scarlino. The Long Distance Race will be around the Islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.

11. SCORING

Four races are required to be completed to constitute a championship. Whenfewerthanfiveraceshavebeencompleted,aboat’sseriesscorewillbethetotalofherracescores. Whenfiveormoreraceshavebeencompleted,aboat’sseriesscorewillbethetotalofherracescoresexcluding her worst score. Swan 60 and Swan 601 will be scored separately.

12. PENALTY SYSTEM

A yacht that may have broken a rule of RRS Part 2 while racing may take a penalty by making one turn, including one tack and one gybe that, in all other respects, complies with RRS 44.2. However, if a yacht breaksaruleofRRSPart2withinthethree-lengthzoneofanyroundingorpassingmark,herpenaltyshallbeatwoturnpenalty,incompliancewithRRS44.2.ThisamplifiesRRS44.2.

13. BERTHING

Berthing is included in the entry fee from Friday, 8 May to Monday, 16 May, 2015 in the dedicated mooring places inside Marina di Scarlino. To reserve a berth for a longer stay or for more info about the Marina, contact [email protected]

14. PRIZES

PrizeswillbeawardedtothefirstthreeyachtsamongSwan60andtothefirstthreeyachtsamongSwan601.TheSwan60WorldChampionshipTrophyshallbeawardedtothefirstSwan60yacht.AfulllistofprizeswillbepublishedontheOfficialNoticeBoard.


15. HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS

Yachts shall not be hauled out and underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around yachts between 09.00 on 12 May and 17.00 on 16 May without written permission of the Race Committee.

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4 “Decision to Race” of RR ISAF2013-2016.Theorganizingauthoritywillnotacceptanyliabilityformaterialdamageorpersonalinjury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

18. MEDIA DISCLAIMER

Competitors grant the Club Nautico Scarlino, Nautor’s Swan and the Organizing Authority the unrestricted right and permission to use the name and the image for any text, photo or video footage of either themselves or the yacht they are sailing during the event, to be published or broadcast in any media whatsoever (including but not limited to Press and TV advertisements, social media or internet), for either editorial or advertising purposes or to be used in press information; in this respect, competitors’ name and biographical material may also be used or reproduced in any way known. As part of the registration process, each individual participating crew member will be required to sign a declaration accepting this waiver of right.
