Subject: Complaint against illegal construction by landlord.

I, Prayas Mahendra Jain, residing at Room No.20, 3rd floor, Jay Mahal Estate, 20/48, Lohee Chawl OR 39, Kitchen Garden Lane, Mumbai, 400 002 since 1974. In order to harass the tenants and create disturbances, the landlords have demolished a common W.C. for 3rd floor of 300 square feet, two-three years back, thereby blocking all the toilets in the 3rd floor. This has resulted into trouble and inconvenience for all the people residing there including me. Moreover, in that space they have constructed an office and as per my knowledge, they have not taken permission from B.M.C. for this construction.The landlords have also started illegal construction. Major portion of walls and beams have been removed making it difficult to live in. The construction by the landlord has been done just to extract money from the tenants, which is very unprofessional and unethical behavior from his side. His actions are both illegal and troublesome in nature and hence need to be justified.Therefore, I request you to take severe action against the landlord within seven days. Enquiry should be made regarding the legality of the construction. If this is not done within the mentioned timeframe, then I will be forced to take civil or criminal action against both the landlord and B.M.C.Kindly consider my request.
