Ohio Stateis ranked eighth in the AP poll and seventh by the coaches. TheHawkeyes are ranked 20th in the latest BCS standings while theBuckeyes are ninth.

Iowa beatEastern Illinois (37-7), Iowa State (35-7), Ball State (45-0), PennState (24-3), Michigan (38-28), Michigan State (37-6) and Indiana(18-13) and lost to Wisconsin (31-30), at Arizona (34-27) and atNorthwestern (21-17). Ohio State has beaten Marshall, Miami(FL), Ohio, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Minnesotaand Penn State. The lone loss came at Wisconsin.

    of the season. Kickoff is 2:36 p.m. CT in Kinnick Stadium (70,585). The game

    is sold out.

    ON THE TUBEABC (HD) will televise the contest to a national audience. Sean McDonough

    Matt Millen and Quint Kessenich will call the action. The game is also availableonline at espn3.com.

    RADIO BROADCASTIowa games are broadcast on the Hawkeye Radio Network. Gary Dolphin handles

    HAWKEYE WIN STREAKIowa has won 22 of its last 27 games and 24 of 30, dating back to the middle of

    the 2008 season.Iowa had a 24-5 stretch from the 2001 Alamo Bowl through the first two games

    of the 2004 season. Iowa posted a 22-2-2 mark between 1956-58. Iowa is 13-4in its last 17 Big Ten games.

    Iowas school record of 20 straight wins occurred between 1920-23.

    IOWA VS. RANKED OPPONENTSWith the 37-6 win over fifth-ranked Michigan State (10/30/10), Iowa has recorded

    a victory over a top-five ranked team in each of the last three seasons. Iowa defeatedfourth-ranked Penn State (21-10) on the road in 2009 and defeated the third-rankedNittany Lions (24-23) in Kinnick Stadium in 2008.

    Iowa has defeated three ranked teams this season, including Penn State (#20)Michigan (#24) and Michigan State (#5). Two of Iowas losses have been at thehands of ranked teams (#18 Arizona and #10 Wisconsin) and Northwestern movedinto the rankings after defeating Iowa. The three wins over ranked teams are themost for Iowa since posting a 3-1 record vs. ranked opponents in 2004.

    Ohio State is the sixth ranked team Iowa will face this season, matching the mosthe Hawkeyes have faced in a single season under coach Kirk Ferentz. Iowa also

    Weekly Football Press ConferenceIowa Head Coach Kirk Ferentz holds his weekly press

    conferences every Tuesday throughout the season.

    The press conferences are held in the auditorium of

    the Hayden Fry Football Complex. Coach Ferentz ad-

    dresses the media at 12:30 p.m. and requested players

    will be available following the press conference. In case

    of poor weather, player interviews will be conducted

    inside the bubble.

    Media need to submit their Tuesday player interview

    requests to Phil Haddy, via e-mail, by 10:30 a.m. CT

    each Sunday. True freshmen are not available for

    interviews.

    Media can access video highlights of Ferentzs weekly

    press conference, plus player clips and highlights via

    satellite. The time is from 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. (CT). The

    satellite feed is available on AMC 3, Transponder 3,C-Band Analog.

    All press conferences can be viewed on the official

    Iowa sold all tickets for its seven home games, matching the school record byaveraging 70,585 fans per contest. Iowa issued over 59,000 season tickets, whichincluded more than 10,000 student tickets. Iowa also averaged 70,585 for all homegames in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Iowa has sold out Kinnick Stadium 49 of the las51 games. In addition, Iowa sold its allotment of tickets to the season finale aMinnesota.

    DOMINANT AT HOMEIowa has won 49 of its last 59 games (.831) in Kinnick Stadium, dating back

    to the 2002 season, including a 5-1 mark this season. The Hawkeye losses cameto Western Michigan (28-19 in 2007), Indiana (38-20 in 2007), Michigan (23-20in overtime in 2005), Ohio State (38-17 in 2006), Northwestern (21-7 in 200622-17 in 2008 and 17-10 in 2009), Wisconsin (24-21 in 2006 and 31-30 in 2010)and Iowa State (36-31 in 2002).     THREE HAWKEYES EARN ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT HONORS

    Three members of the Iowa football program were named to the ESPN AcademicAll-District Sevenfirst team. Those players are senior OL Julian Vandervelde, seniorLB Jeff Tarpinian and junior LB Tyler Nielsen. Each of the three Hawkeye playersnow have their name on the national ballot for ESPN Academic All-America honors

    Vandervelde is a native of Davenport who has earned all-District recognition forthe third straight season. He was a first team selection in 2008 and earned secondteam honors last season. He carries a 3.46 GPA and is majoring in English andReligious Studies.

    Vandervelde has started all 10 games for the Hawkeyes, who are ranked 20th inthe current BCS rankings. He has started 34 games throughout his career, includ-ing 15 straight. He has earned academic all-Big Ten recognition in each of thepast three seasons.

    Tarpinian is a native of Omaha, Neb. He is majoring in Accounting and has a3.58 GPA. He has also earned academic all-Big Ten honors in each of the pasthree seasons.

    Tarpinian has been hampered by injuries in 2010, but has started four games.He returned to limited action in Iowas 37-6 win over fifth-ranked Michigan Stateafter missing two games, and started at outside linebacker at Northwestern. Hehas 44 tackles, including 2.5 QB sacks. His forced fumble led to a touchdownagainst Arizona.

    Nielsen, a native of Humboldt, holds a 3.56 GPA and is a Management majorHe has earned academic all-Big Ten recognition in each of the past two seasons.

    Nielsen has started eight games at outside linebacker for the nationally-rankedHawkeyes. He totaled 42 tackles. Nielsen has recorded 4.5 tackles for loss andfour pass break-ups. He had an interception in Iowas 35-7 win over Iowa StateHe was injured in Iowas win over Michigan State and will miss the remainder ofthe season.

    Under Coach Kirk Ferentz the last 12 seasons, 17 Iowa football student-athletehave combined to earn academic all-District and all-America recognition on 31occasions.

    HAWKEYES ON AWARD LISTSSenior QB Ricky Stanzi, senior TE Allen Reisner, senior DE Adrian Clayborn

    junior DB Tyler Sash and senior P Ryan Donahue are on reduced lists for nationalhonors at their respective positions.

    Clayborn is one of four finalists for the Rotary Lombardi Award and a semifinalisfor the Chuck Bednarik Award. The 41st Lombardi Award will be presented at theRotary Lombardi Award Presentation Dec. 8 in Houston, Tex.

    Clayborn has started 34 games in his Hawkeye career, including the last 27 straightIn 10 games this season he has collected 42 tackles, including seven tackles forloss and 3.5 quarterback sacks. He also hasfive QB pressures and blocked a fieldgoal attempt in Iowas 38-28 win at Michigan.

    Clayborn collected 10 tackles in Iowas win over Penn State, earning recognitionas the Big Ten Conference defensive Player of the Week. He also had a quarterbacksack for minus 15 yards and three tackles for loss against the Nittany Lions. Headded five tackles and the seventh forced fumble of his career against Wisconsin

    Along with the Lombardi Award, Clayborn is one of 16 semifinalists for the ChuckBednarik Award. He was named to preseason Watch Lists for the Walter CampPlayer of the Year Award, the Ted Hendricks Award, the Chuck Bednarik Award andthe Bronko Nagurski Award. He was a preseason first team all-America selectionby Sports Illustrated, Sporting News and Playboy magazines.

    Stanzi is one of 16 semifinalists for the 2010 Davey OBrien National Quarterback Award, one of 16 semifinal candidates for the Maxwell Award and one of 10semifinal candidates for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award for the top seniorquarterback in the nation. Stanzi, in 10 games, has completed 180-271 attemptfor 2,482 yards and 22 touchdowns, with only four interceptions. He leads the BigTen and is third nationally in pass efficiency. Stanzi was a semifinal candidate forthe OBrien Award in 2009 as well.

    Reisner is one of eight semifinal candidates for the 2010 John Mackey Award. The

    award goes annually to the nations best collegiate tight end. Reisner has startedevery game this year. He has 35 receptions for 370 yards (10.6 average) and twotouchdowns, including six receptions for 66 yards at Northwestern. Former Iowatight end Dallas Clark won the Mackey Award in 2002.

    Sash is one of 10 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, which goes annually tothe top collegiate defensive back. He currently ranks fifth in career interception(13) at Iowa. Sash is the Iowa record holder and ranks fourth all-time in Big Tenhistory with 392 interception yards. He currently ranks third in tackles with 58stops in 10 games,

    Donahue is a Ray Guy Award semifinalist for the secondtime in his career, joining nine other punters on the list. Donahue holds a 44.7 yard average on 43 punts, while opponentshave averaged just four yards on 17 returns. He has bootedfive of the 14 longest punts in school history while averagingover 40 yards per punt in each of his four seasons. He hada 73-yard punt at Northwestern, which ties as 10th longest

    Kirk Ferentz (pronounced FAIR-rintz,rhymes with parents) is in his 12thseason as head football coach at theUniversity of Iowa. His latest contract

    extension runs through the 2020 season.Ferentz was named the 2009 Dave Mc-

    Clain Big Ten Conference Coach of theYear. He was one of 15 semi-finalistsfor the 2009 George Munger Award, pre-sented by the Maxwell Football Club tothe College Coach of the Year. He wasthe 2009 AFCA Region Three Coach ofthe Year and was one of 10 finalists for the Liberty Mutualnational Coach of the Year. He is one of seven candidates forthe 2010 Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award.

    Ferentz was honored as the 2002 Associated Press and WalterCamp National Coach of the Year and was the AFCA RegionalCoach of the Year that season, as well. He was named Big

    Ten Conference Coach of the Year in 2002, 2004 and 2009.Ferentz guided Iowa to Big Ten titles in 2002 and 2004.

    Iowa has made two BCS bowl appearances, including a 24-14 win in the 2010 FedEx Orange Bowl. Iowa has played in sixJanuary bowl games and has four January bowl victories (2004Outback Bowl, 2005 Capital One Bowl, 2009 Outback Bowland 2010 FedEx Orange Bowl). Iowa has posted an 84-38(.689) overall mark and a 50-27 (.649) Big Ten record the lastnine plus seasons. Ferentz has guided the Hawkeyes to eightfirst divisionfinishes, including a second-place finish in 2009.The Hawkeyes are bowl eligible for the 10th straight season.

    Ferentz, at Iowa, holds an overall record of 88-58 (.603) anda 53-41 (.564) mark in Big Ten games. In his 15th season as acollege head coach, he holds a career mark of 100-79 (.559).

    Fifty-four of Iowas 146 games under Ferentz have beendecided by seven points or less (25-29) and 44 were playedagainst opponents who were ranked in the top 25 at the time(19-25).

    Ferentz joined the Iowa staff after serving as assistant headcoach and offensive line coach of the NFLs Baltimore Ravens.He was part of the Baltimore (Cleveland Browns prior to themove) staff for six years.

    Ferentz was named head coach of the Maine Bears in 1990and held that position for three years. Ferentz was a memberof Hayden Frys Iowa staff for nine years as offensive linecoach (1981-89). He coordinated Iowas running game duringhis first coaching stint at Iowa. Iowa appeared in eight bowlgames during the time Ferentz was an Iowa assistant.

    Ferentz was born in Royal Oak, MI, and attended high schoolin Pittsburgh, PA. Kirk earned his bachelors degree in EnglishEducation from the University of Connecticut in 1978, wherehe was a football captain. Kirk received the DistinguishedAlumnus Award from the Neag School of Education at theUniversity of Connecticut in May, 2009. He was inducted intothe Upper St. Clair High School Hall of Fame in September,2002 and the Western Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hallof Fame in May, 2003.

    Senior RB Paki OMeara was named Big Ten Conference special teams Player ofthe Week for his play in Iowas 37-7 win over Eastern Illinois. OMeara blockedan Eastern Illinois punt in the first period and returned the block for a 42-yardtouchdown. His score gave Iowa a 21-0 advantage. He also had four rushingattempts for 34 yards in the second half in earning his first Big Ten Player ofthe Week honor.

    Sophomore RB Adam Robinson earned honorable mention recognition from theCollege Football Performance Award for his play in Iowas 35-7 win over IowaState. Robinson rushed for a career-best 156 yards on 14 carries and scoredon a 39-yard run. Robinson also had a 75-yard run to set up another Hawkeyetouchdown and surpassed 1,000 career rushing yards.

    Senior TE Allen Reisner earned honorable mention recognition from the CollegeFootball Performance Award for his play in Iowas 35-7 win over Iowa Stateand the 21-17 loss at Northwestern. Reisner had three receptions for 66 yardsand a touchdown vs. Iowa State. His two-yard scoring reception gave Iowa a21-0 advantage in the second period and his 55-yard catch, the longest of hiscareer, led to Iowas final score. He added 66 receiving yards on six receptionsat Northwestern.

    Sophomore DB Micah Hyde earned honorable mention recognition from theCollege Football Performance Awards for his defensive backfield play in Iowas37-6 win over fifth-ranked Michigan State. Hyde hadfive tackles and a 66-yardreturn for a touchdown.

    Junior TE Brad Herman earned honorable mention recognition from the CollegeFootball Performance Award for his play in Iowas 37-6 win over fifth-rankedMichigan State. Herman had three receptions for 80 yards, matching his careerhigh in catches and reaching a career-best in receiving yards.

    Iowa had eight players named Big Ten Players of the Week in 2009 (four ondefense, one offense and three special team winners).

    IOWA TOUGH ON DEFENSEIowa ranks fourth nationally in rushing defense (86.8), seventh in scoring defense(15.0), 16th in total defense (307.0) and 21st in pass efficiency defense (114.12)The Iowa defense was the last unit in the nation to allow a rushing touchdown thisseason, that coming in Iowas sixth game. The Hawkeyes are fifth in turnovermargin (+1.2).

    IOWA EFFICIENT ON OFFENSEIowa ranks fifth in the nation in pass efficiency (164.4) and the Hawkeyes are

    43rd in scoring offense (30.8). The Hawkeyes are 35th in passing offense (252.7)46th in total offense (405.9) and 60th in rushing offense (153.2). Iowa scored 30 omore points in three consecutive Big Ten Conference games (Michigan, WisconsinMichigan State) for the first time since 2005.

    Iowa has been guilty of just seven turnovers (three lost fumbles, four interceptions), which ties Oregon State and Wisconsin as the fewest in the nation. Iowhas not lost a fumble in the last six games.

    POSITIVE TURNOVER RATIOIowa is second in the Big Ten and fifth nationally with a plus 1.2 turnover ratio

    Iowa has been guilty of just seven turnovers in 10 games, including just threeturnovers in six Big Ten games. The seven turnovers tie as the fewest in the nation(Oregon State and Wisconsin).

    INJURY SETBACKSIowa sophomore running back Jewel Hampton and junior linebacker Bruce Davi

    suffered season-ending knee injuries during Iowas 34-27 loss at Arizona. Bothhave had surgery to repair the damage. Hampton rushed 91 times for 463 yardand seven touchdowns as a freshman in 2008 before missing 2009 due to injuryHe rushed 20 times for 84 yards and a touchdown against Iowa State and had afour-yard touchdown reception at Arizona prior to his season-ending injury.

    In addition, LB Jeff Tarpinian missed Iowas opening game and games vs. Michigan and Wisconsin before returning to limited vs. Michigan State and Indiana. Hdid not start vs. Penn State and was limited to just a few plays on defense. Tarpinian led Iowa in tackles through five games and returned to the starting line-up aNorthwestern. Senior FB Brett Morse did not play at Michigan, ending his startingstreak at 18 consecutive starts, but returned vs. Wisconsin.

    RB Adam Robinson, Iowas leading rusher, and OL Adam Gettis, did not play aIndiana. Gettis also missed the Northwestern game.

    Redshirt freshman OL Nolan MacMillan missed three games before returning toaction at Northwestern. He started the first six games. Senior LB Jeremiha Huntestarted the first seven games before missing the Michigan State contest. Huntereturned to start the last two contests and has 34 career starts.

    OLB Tyler Nielsen, who started the first eight games and ranked third in tackleswas injured vs. Michigan State and is out for the remainder of the season.

    Iowa defensive coordinator Norm Parker underwent a medical procedure in latSeptember and missed seven games. While he has not returned to the practicfield, Parker attended Iowas home win over Michigan State but did not travel toIndiana. He did work from the press box at Northwestern.

    Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk SeriesThe Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series is in its seventh season in2010-11. The series is tied 3-3 in the in-state competi-tion against Iowa State that began in 2004-05. IowaState captured the Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series a year agoby a 16-11 margin.

    Iowa State holds a 6-5 advantage to date. Iowa de-feated ISU in football and womens soccer and lostin volleyball and mens and womens cross country.

    Last season, Iowa captured victories in football,womens soccer, wrestling, womens gymnastics andwomens tennis. The Cyclones recorded wins in vol-leyball, mens and womens cross country, mens andwomens basketball, womens swimming and diving,womens gymnastics and softball.

    Iowa captured the inaugural Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series(13-8) in 2004-05 and won again in 2006-07 (13-8)and 2008-09 (21-4). Iowa State won the competitionin 2005-06 (13-8) and 2007-08 (18-9) and 2009-10(16-11).

    The 12-event series awards two points (except foot-ball, which is worth three) to the winning school ineach head-to-head match-up between the two insti-tutions. Additionally, two points are awarded to aninstitution if the graduation rate of its student-athletesis greater than the national average as reported eachfall by the NCAA.

    A commemorative Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series Cup,

    which stands 31 inches tall and weighs 19 pounds, isdisplayed on the winning teams campus for an entireyear after a victory. Replica cups are also presentedas traveling trophies for individual victorious teamsin the head-to-head competition.

    OHIO STATE COACH JIM TRESSELOhio State Coach Jim Tressel is in his 10th season as the Buckeye head coach

    and his 25th season overall as a college head coach. Tressel has posted a 103-22record at Ohio State and his career mark is 238-79-2. He led Ohio State to a RoseBowl victory last season and to the 2002 national title. The Buckeyes have wonfive straight Big Ten titles. OSU also played in the national title game in 2006 and2007. Tressel was named national Coach of the Year in 2002.

    Prior to taking over at Ohio State, Tressel was the head coach at YoungstownState for 15 years (1986-2000). His teams there won four national titles as he com-piled a 135-57-2 record. He was a four time selection as Division I-AA NationaCoach of the Year. His coaching career has included stops at Akron, Miami, OHand Syracuse. He also coached quarterbacks, receivers and running backs at OhioState from 1983-85.

    Along with winning national titles in Division I and I-AA, Tressels father, Lee

    coached Baldwin Wallace to the 1978 Division III national title. Lee and Jim Tressel are the only father-and-son combination ever to win national championships.

    IOWA, OHIO STATE NOTES Iowa and Ohio State have both fared well at home over the last nine seasons

    Iowa has posted a 49-10 (.831) record, while Ohio State is 59-5 (.922). Ohio State ranks fourth in the nation in pass efficiency (165.37) and Iowa ranksfifth (164.4). Individually, Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi ranks third (167.19) and OSUsTerrelle Pryor is fifth (166.4).

    Ohio State has not played at Iowa since 2006. The Hawkeyes hosted the topranked Buckeyes in a prime time contest, with Ohio State winning, 38-17.

    Ohio State leads the nation with 17 interceptions and Iowa is tied for 12th with15. Both teams have three interception returns for touchdowns in 2010, withOSU getting two last week in a win over Penn State.

    Iowa has 13 players on its roster from the state of Ohio, including regular start-ers in QB Ricky Stanzi (Mentor), WR Derrell Johnson-Koulianos (Campbell)and DB Micah Hyde (Fostoria). Others include B.J.     OSU WON IN OVERTIME IN 09Iowa rallied from a 14-point deficit in the final 11 minutes, but Ohio State scored

    on a 39-yard field goal in overtime last Nov. 14 to take a 27-24 win at Columbus ina Big Ten championship game that determined the Big Tens BCS representative

    Iowa scored the first points of the game, driving 42 yards in eight plays for a

    Daniel Murray 32-yard field goal late in the first period. Ohio State respondedwith a 30-yard field goal and a 22-yard touchdown run late in the second period totake a 10-3 advantage at halftime.

    The Hawkeyes tied the score on a nine-yardstrike from QB James Vandenberg to WR MarvinMcNutt, Jr. on their second possession of thethird period.

    Ohio State responded with an 11-yard touch-down run on its next drive to take a 17-10 advan-tage with 13 minutes remaining and increasedthe advantage to 14 points less than two minuteslater. The Buckeyes scored their final points inregulation on a 49-yard run on the first play fol-

    lowing an interception.Iowa responded immediately, as DerrellJohnson-Koulianos returned the kickoff 99-yards for a touchdown. The KO returnwas the first for an Iowa touchdown since the 2003 Orange Bowl and tied as thefourth longest in school history.

    Iowa allowed just one first down on OSUs next drive and stayed alive when theBuckeyes missed a 47-yard field goal attempt. The Hawkeyes drove 70 yards ineight plays, getting a 10-yard touchdown pass from Vandenberg to McNutt with2:42 left to play to tie the score at 24. Ohio State was forced to punt with oneminute remaining and the teams headed to overtime.

    Iowa started the extra session on offense and failed to score, as Vandenbergs passon fourth and 26 was intercepted in the end zone. Ohio State gained three yardson three running plays before the field goal ended the contest.

    Vandenberg, in his first career start, completed 20-33 passes for 233 yards andtwo scores, with three interceptions. Vandenberg filled in the final two games ofthe 2009 regular season after Ricky Stanzi was injured vs. Northwestern. RB AdamRobinson returned after missing two games and led Iowas ground game with 74yards on 20 carries. McNutt, Jr. led Iowa receivers with six catches for 78 yardand two touchdowns. Johnson-Koulianos had 154 yards on three KO returns andadded three receptions for 71 yards.

    LB Pat Angerer led the Iowa defense with 13 tackles. DE Adrian Clayborn added12 stops, including three tackles for loss and one QB sack. OLB A.J. Edds added10 tackles.

    THE SERIESSaturday marks the 63rd meeting in the series that began with a 12-9 Iowa vic-

    tory in 1922. Ohio State holds a 45-14-3 advantage and has won the last threemeetings. Ohio State won a year ago, scoring a 27-24 overtime win in Columbuto earn the Big Ten title. The Buckeyes won 38-17 at Iowa City in 2006 on theirlast visit to Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeyes snapped an eight-game losing streakto the Buckeyes with a 33-7 victory at Iowa City in 2004. The teams did not meein 2007 and 2008.

    Ohio State holds a 16-6-2 advantage in games played at Iowa City, winning sixof the last seven. Iowas most recent win in the series was a 33-7 victory in Kinnick Stadium in 2004.

    Saturdays game will mark the 20th time the teams have met when both havebeen in the national rankings.     NORTHWESTERN RALLIES PAST IOWANorthwestern used two long scoring drives in the fourth quarter to rally to a 21

    17 win over Iowa in Evanston. The Hawkeyes had the ball in Wildcat territory inthe final minute, reaching the 39-yard line before a fourth down pass to the endzone was knocked away.

    Trailing 7-3 at halftime, Iowa took control in the third period, driving 75 yards

    for a touchdown in seven plays, taking the lead on a five-yard pass from QB RickyStanzi to WR Marvin McNutt, Jr. A 16-yard pass from Stanzi to McNutt, Jr. ledto the touchdown.

    The Hawkeyes increased the advantage ontheir next possession as Stanzi connected withWR Derrell Johnson-Koulianos for a 70-yardscore to give Iowa a 17-7 advantage throughthree quarters. That play marked Iowas longestscoring play of the season and the longest careerreception for Johnson-Koulianos.

    The teams exchanged interceptions early inthe fourth period, with Northwestern taking overat its own 15 with 10:56 remaining following

    Iowas only turnover. The Wildcats drove 85yards in 13 plays to cut the deficit to 17-14 with6:21 to play. Iowa picked up a first down on its next possession, but was forcedto punt with 4:08 left to play.

    The Wildcats drove 91 yards in 11 plays for the winning score, a 20-yard pass fromQB Dan Persa to WR Demetrius Fields with 1:22 left in the game. Iowa moved 41yards before turning the ball over on downs in the final seconds.

    Northwestern scored a touchdown on its first drive of the game and held the Iowaoffense in check throughout most of the first half. Iowa drove 55 yards on its finapossession of the second quarter, getting on the scoreboard on a 32-yard field goaby PK Mike Meyer in the final minute of the half.

    Stanzi led the Iowa offense by completing 23-41 passes for 270 yards and twotouchdowns, with one interception. Sophomore RB Adam Robinson returned toaction to rush for 108 yards on 22 carries, surpassing the century mark for the sixth

    time in nine games this season. McNutt, Jr. had seven receptions for 72 yards andJohnson-Koulianos added 104 yards on five receptions. TE Allen Reisner reachedcareer highs with six receptions for 66 yards.

    NORTHWESTERN EXTRA POINTS The attendance of 47,130 marked Northwesternsfirst sellout of the season and

    largest crowd since the same number attended the Ohio State at Northwesterncontest in 2008.

    Junior WR Marvin McNutt, Jr. had a five-yard reception for a touchdown in thethird period, the 14th of his career. McNutt, Jr. is tied for eighth in career TDreceptions. He ended the day with seven catches for 72 yards and a score. Theseven receptions equaled a personal best.

    Senior WR Derrell Johnson-Koulianos had a 70-yard scoring reception in thethird period, the longest reception of his career. He is Iowas career leader inreceptions and yards and is tied for third with 16 scoring catches. He ended thegame with five receptions for 104 yards and a score.

    True freshman LB James Morris amassed a personal-best 13 tackles, including asack. CB Micah Hyde also registered a career high in tackles, posting 12 tackles(10 solo).

    Third-down conversions played a factor in the outcome. Northwestern converted9-16, while Iowa was just 2-14. The Hawkeyes were 3-4 on fourth down, withtheir final fourth-down pass attempt falling incomplete in the end zone.

    Senior punter Ryan Donahue had a 73-yard punt in the second period, which tiesas the 10th longest in school history. Donahue also had a 73-yard kick againsNorthwestern in 2009 and he had a 76-yard kick against the Wildcats in 2007He finished the day with seven punts for 300 yards (42.9 avg.).     the 20. Senior QB Ricky Stanzi completed 23-41 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns. Stanzi improved his career totals to 501-833 for 6,855 yards and 53touchdowns. Iowa is 25-7 with Stanzi as its starting quarterback.He has at leasone touchdown pass in the last 19 games he has played. He has at least threescoring passes in five of 10 games in 2010. He is third in career touchdownpasses with 53. His 22 TD passes in 2010 tie as fourth best in a season. He isfourth in career pass attempts and yards and fifth in completions.

    QB Ricky Stanzi completed a 70-yard scoring strike to senior WR DerrellJohnson-Koulianos in the third period. The pass is the longest touchdown playof the season for Iowa and the longest pass play (66 yards vs. Iowa State). Thereception is the longest of Johnson-Koulianos career and moves him into a tiefor third with 16 career scoring receptions.

    Sophomore RB Adam Robinson led Iowas ground game with 22 attempts for108 yards. Robinson had five rushing touchdowns in 11 games as a freshmanin 2009 and he has 10 this season. He has rushed for over 100 yards in six ofnine games played in 2010 and has eight career games over the century markHe has scored two or more touchdowns in five games this season. Robinsonincreased his career totals to 375 carries for 1,748 yards. He is tied with NickBell for 13th in career rushing yards at Iowa.

    Iowa did not score on its first possession for the fourth timein 10 games. Iowa collected field goals on its first drivevs. Penn State and Indiana and began games vs. EasternIllinois, Iowa State, Wisconsin and Michigan State withtouchdown drives.

    Northwestern scored on a rushing touchdown on itsfirst possession. Iowa has allowed just seven opponents

    OHIO STATE TOPS PENN STATEOhio State rallied from a 14-3 halftime deficit to take a 38-14

    win over Penn State in Columbus, getting two interceptionreturns for scores in the second half. A 34-yard interceptionreturn by Devon Torrence gave the Buckeyes the lead in thesecond half and they dominated the rest of the way. Travi

    Howard had a 30-yard interception return for a score in thefourth quarter.

    Penn State looked to add to a 14-3 advantage late in thesecond period, reaching a fourth-and-one at the OSU 20. TheBuckeye defense held the rushing play for no gain.

    Ohio State held a 453-268 advantage in total offense. PennState gained 212 yards total offense in the first half, but jus60 yards in the second half. The Nittany Lions were held to12 plays for a gain of eight net yards in the final period.

    Ohio State RB Dan Herron led the rushing attack with 21carries for 190 yards, including a five-yard touchdown in thethird quarter. QB Terrelle Pryor completed 8-13 passes fo139 yards and two touchdowns and added 49 rushing yards
