This week’s assembly At today’s assembly, Year 7 students taught us the meaning of teamwork. Their assembly included an animated video, a rendition of ‘Lean on Me’ and a demonstration of teamwork.

New members of staff Meet two highly qualified educators who have joined our team:

• Ms Constance – Teaching Assistant (Year 1) • Mr Benedict – Teacher of Chemistry

Ms Constance comes to NIS with keen interest in the development of young children and years of experience. Mr Benedict is equipped with excellent subject knowledge, many years of experience and an unmistakable passion for children’s development. Thank you Ms Kate On Thursday 28th January 2016, we bade Ms Kate a fond farewell. Miss Kate’s pupils admire her caring personality and positive attitude. We thank her for her contribution to our school and wish her very best in her future endeavours. Toodle-oo!

Chinese Year of the Monkey

Monday 8th February 2016 is not a mufti day, but we encourage students to wear red as part of their school uniforms. They could wear red vests, bracelets, hairbands, belts, shoes, socks, scarves and other items. Mock checkpoint examinations (Years 6 and 9 students) The checkpoint examinations are scheduled for April 2016 (exact dates will be confirmed later). To prepare our students, we will administer mock examinations on the following days:

• Friday 5th February 2016 (10:20 to 12:40): English Language • Monday 8th February 2016 (08:00 to 10:00): Mathematics • Tuesday 9th February 2016 (08:00 to 10:00): Science •

We wish our students the very best in the forthcoming examinations. Sports Festival (9am to 12noon on Saturday 20th February 2016) Please mark your calendars. The four houses – Churchill, Gandhi, Lincoln and Mandela – will compete in inter-house sporting activities. Which house will top the list? Come and find out. Remember to bring your family and friends along.
