These programs will provide our teachers with innovative ideas and new skills in delivering literacy and numeracy to our students. SCHOOL COUNCIL The Annual General Meeting of the Langwarrin Park School Council will be held next Wednesday, March 16 at 6pm. At this meeting a report is delivered by the School Council President and the Principal on the activities of 2014. Office bearers for 2015 are also elected. This meeting will be followed by the March meeting of the Council at 6.30pm. A subcommittee of the Council will consider drafting protocols for parents relating to the use of the new communications tool DOJO. YELLOW LINES IS FOR STAFF ONLY PARENTS SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING

UPDATE OF STUDENT DETAILS

Please, please, please if you have moved, changed/deleted home or mobile phone numbers or changed emergency contact details we desperately need to

know. So many times when a child is sick or injured the front office has trouble making contact with either

parents or emergency contacts which can be extremely stressful for your child as they think that

no-one is available to come and collect them.

Casual dress day is next Tuesday the 17th March. Just a reminder to all our new families on our casual dress days - the children donate a gold coin for coming out of school uniform on this day. If anyone can help counting on the day that would be great - its just 1/2 an hour or so in the staffroom from 9:15am. Our first term dates are -

Sausage sizzle at the Twilight sports (Prep to Year 2) - 18th March

Ballam Park Athletics day (Year 3 - 6) Selling drinks/icy poles - 25th March

Easter raffle You should have received your Easter raffle tickets last week, extras are available at the front office if you missed out. Our email address for anyone to send ideas, feedback or just to let us know if you can help is [email protected] or

like our Facebook page at LPPS Parents and Friends. We are also up and running on the schools QKR App which you are

able to make payments through. Thank you for your support Narelle Richmond PFC President 0403 592 208 [email protected]

YEAR 4 BIKE EDUCATION Last week Year 4 students spent 2 hours a day developing their bike riding skills and on-road knowledge. The Bike-ed course finished with an on road test where the students had to complete a circuit on the local roads/streets near the school. This test was only possible because a number of parents were prepared to help with child supervision and assessment. Parents, who assisted with supervision during the lead up activities as well as the on-road test, provided a safe and effective learning environment for all students who participated. Thank you to the following parents for assisting with the program:

4/13 – Helen Loy (Alex), Katherine Porter (Zack and Callum), Louise Shaw (Ben), Darryl Slee (Liam), Ben Swallow (Ella Piemonte), Adam Richmond (Josh)

4/14 – Vicki Adams (Sophie), Sharon Freeman-Wright (Jorja), Terri Hughes (Amie), Sharon Law (Emily), Chantel Mavondo (Monique), Ainslee Wickstein (Wyatt)

4/16 – Karen Edmonds (Shelby), Kathy Kennedy (Jessica), Annette O’Neill (Lachlan) A special thank you to TRACEY STAFFORD and DAN PHILLIPS who assisted with the program even though their children are not Year 4 students.
