I often see patients who are hampered by chronic pain or have deep “knots” in their muscles that won’t go away.
For many of these patients, I recommend Acupoint Injection Therapy (AIT), an effective way to get to the source of deep tissue issues.
Also known as biopuncture, AIT is a safe, effective therapy in which acupuncture points are injected with specific natural medicines to stimulate the immune system and combat pain or injury.
Each injection causes a physiological reaction to which the body responds, thereby strengthening its innate healing ability.
Because medicine is
injected directly into the affected area, its effects are felt quickly.
Unlike cortisone or other substances, the milder, natural homeopathic remedies don’t simply mask or suppress pain; rather, they work to heal the surrounding tissues.
Depending on the biotherapeutic
substance injected, AIT treats a broad range of ailments including tennis elbow, chronic back pain, asthma, migraines, digestive problems,
sciatica and many more.
Each AIT treatment takes only about 15 minutes.
As the solution is injected there is a sensation like a cramp – similar to the ache that occurs with any injection – as the needle’s insertion causes abnormal muscle tightness and shortening to intensify very briefly and then release.
This initial discomfort quickly disappears and is followed by a feeling of relaxation in the muscle.
As the medicine reaches the injured tissue, it brings increased nutrients, energy and blood flow to the area.
This decreases the nerve firing that triggers pain, ending
an otherwise chronic cycle.
Many patients notice improvement after just one session, although a number of treatments are typically required to receive the full effect, followed by a month of weekly maintenance sessions.
Acupoint Injection Therapy isn’t for everyone, but if you’d
like to find out if it can cure what ails you, give me a call at the clinic.
Dr. Ross Ralph, Dr. TCM, R.Ac., is NATI, biopuncture and Blatman International Myofacial Academy certified in pain management. He can be reached at 250-338-2866 or info@courtenayhealing centre.ca.

CAMPBELL RIVER’S ECONOMY IS ON THE REBOUND!Hello 2014! In just a few short years our economic situation in Campbell River has done a 180 degree turn and things are just getting started. Look at what’s happening in our city these days and we still haven’t broken ground on the new hospital and Hydro projects. Construction is booming and we’re just getting started!
Just a few short years ago our situation was much different. Our Mill shut down, logging was affected by the stock market crash, as was the world’s economic situation. Things were very bleak back then. Many of our citizens fell on hard times and did what they could to make it through to the next day. If this sounds like what you, or your family, have experienced, and you are concerned with how that may have affected your ability to purchase your next vehicle, we may be able to help. Whether you are a First Time Buyer or a Last Time Buyer, our team can help guide you!
Henry (Ford) Albrecht and Aron Welsh are two Automotive Financial Brokers with a combined experience of 25 years in the business. Together they have been assisting and helping customers with their transportation needs even in the face of financial hardships.
If you have been postponing the purchase of your next vehicle because you are unsure of your current credit situation, WAIT NO LONGER!
Contact Henry or Aron, so they can show you your options and possibly open some financial doors that you may not have known were available to you.
Call our direct lines or email for your personal appointment today!

A B.C.-Alberta government working group on energy development has issued its first report, recommending efforts to “increase the public’s energy literacy on oil transportation, production and impacts on daily life.”
The group was set up by B.C. Premier Christy Clark and Alberta Premier Alison Redford last
summer, after they agreed to co-operate on ways to increase oil and gas development and export. Headed by deputy ministers from both provinces, the working group released its first report this week.
The report notes a “disconnect between public perception and the reality” of the importance of oil and gas to the Canadian economy. The industry is the largest contributor to
Canada’s balance of trade, and investment of $55 billion in new capital projects in 2012 alone.
It also records that Canada is losing an estimated $50 million a day in potential revenue due to lack of access to oil customers outside the
United States, and acknowledges that without additional pipeline capacity, crude oil will increasingly be shipped by rail.
To respond to “misinformation on numerous fronts” on technology, economic benefits,
environmental issues and regulatory practices, the report suggests increased effort in communities, First Nations and schools. One program cited as an example is the Canadian Geographic Energy IQ Program, a partnership between the magazine and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers to “provide an interactive educational experience for students in the classroom on the prevalence of energy.”
Redford and Clark agreed last year to support B.C.’s five conditions for new heavy oil pipelines from Alberta to the Pacific coast, and Alberta’s proposal for a national energy strategy to improve access to markets for Canadian energy. B.C.’s conditions include “world class” spill prevention on land and at sea, which the report describes as an evolving target.
The report paints a rosy picture of oil spill response off the coast, despite a study done for the B.C. government last year that found little capacity to recover crude oil spilled off the North Coast.
The report also describes the need for better movement of goods from B.C. ports to Alberta’s industrial areas, an effort called “Project Cargo.”
It calls for improvements to highways, airports and ports at Kitimat, Prince Rupert and Vancouver.

email: [email protected] Those anglers getting out in the rst 2 weeks of January have been getting a good number of feeder springs and the undersized salmon have been caught and released, keepers are ranging from 10 to 14 pounds. Willow Point, Bates Beach and Denman island areas have been shing well this time of year.
If you are new to the area and wanting rst hand shing information, Campbell River and Courtenay have a number of
shing shops that anglers can get up to date information about shing speci c areas. Reports from the Stamp River are slow at the moment, and anglers are heading north to the Gold, Quinsam and Oyster River’s. This time of year water levels can vary and the reports from anglers shing the Quinsam for trout are good. Some big sh are coming out of the Upper Campbell and Comox Lake. Trolling big spoons this time of year seems to be the normal way of getting a nice trout while shore shing using power bait can get sh from many of the pothole lakes. Larry Stefanyk from Campbell River has just returned from Argentina and I will have a chance to talk with Larry and get the scoop on shing, and those venturing out to Cuba and Mexico will have a chance to sh the saltwater in many of the tourist spots.
