From my early days as a figure skater, I loved to skate and was always at the rink, sadly usually alone. The thrill of skating was the common bond and the transition to hockey was inevita-ble for me. Hockey gave me team support, on and off the ice. During a game, my brain is challenged to make quick decisions and my muscles are pushed for that extra drive to the puck. What a rush! During this time, my grades improved as I had to get my homework completed before heading to the rink. In high school, these disciplines led to several academic and athletic awards.
