• I only have experience with managing financial budgets and sources of funds within Baker County.

• W/in Baker County I manage $110,000 general funds for county office operations, along with various grants for Beef Cattle research and teaching.

Question #2

• It is obvious that Extension Administration is in the midst of transformation but I feel that programmatically our mission is still the same; be the conduit that connects the Oregon Land Grant University to the citizens of Oregon, thus helping Oregonians help themselves.

Question #2a

• How do you balance community needs vs. organizational constraints?

• I have never felt constrained by any OSU/OUS policies. By working within my position description I have had the flexibility to serve the “communities” that I live in and operate in, thus remaining valid w/in a community.

Question #2b

• How would you be an advocate and resource for employees during this transformation?

• I would maintain two-way communication between OSU Extension employees in NE Oregon and OSU Extension Administration on Campus. I believe in transparency and democracy.

Question #2c

OSU strives to build an organizational culture that will allow each individual to enter, participate and thrive – unimpaired by barriers related to his/her identity status. Each of us is valued for our uniqueness. Describe how your background and experience has prepared you to be effective in an environment that values diversity.
