Community solar is also booming, with capacity more than doubling last year from 347 MW at the end of 2016 to 734 MW at the end of 2017, according to the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) research. There are now more than 1.7 million solar installations in the U.S. and 2 million should be hit in late 2018 and 4 million by 2023, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) research. It’s no surprise to see the success of North America’s largest solar & energy storage trade show, Solar Power International (SPI) and Energy Storage International (ESI), which returns to Anaheim, CA this September 24-27.

Energy storage is a game-changer for the entire energy economy, and especially for the solar industry.
