Features & Benefits
Superior reliabilityThe reliability and safe operation of the new NordbergGP Series cone crushers are the result, among otherthings, of their high-quality steel. Their reliability indemanding crushing applications is guaranteed by MetsoMinerals' acclaimed metallurgical know-how and on-going development projects involving manganese ma-terials and metallurgical compounds.
Continuous research and product development hastaken advantage of the simple concept of the floatingshaft type design to ensure reliability. The exceptionallylarge diameter of the main shaft and the heavy-dutymainframe ensure robustness.
Automation is standard on most GP cones, which con-tributes significantly to ensuring the unit's reliable oper-ation.
Low production costsMetso Minerals has used its long experience in linerprofile design and its know-how in wear part metallurgyto minimize the cost of worn manganese per tons pro-duced. Our new automation system ensures minimumcost per ton produced by keeping the cavity full, com-pensating for wear, maximizing the availability of theunit, and offering valuable operating data.
Full process adaptabilityNordberg GP Series cone crushers are designed to givemaximum performance in a wide variety of crushingprocesses: from secondary to extra fine crushing, andfrom stationary to highly mobile applications. Full processadaptability is the result of being able to use severaldifferent crushing cavities in the same frame structure. This feature ensures you are always able to adapt yourGP to the crushing process.
Large feed openingThe GP concept allows big feed openings with a fairlysmall cone diameter. This is especially important in sec-ondary applications as it means you can open yourprimary jaw crusher wider and potentially increase thecapacity of your plant. GP crushers in the secondary linecan also be used in gravel pits as primary crushers.
The main crusher parts are producedin Metso Minerals' own foundries.

Advanced automationAutomation is playing an increasing role in the develop-ment of crushing processes today. The Nordberg A2020automation unit comes as standard in most GP Seriescone crushers. This contributes signifi-cantly to the effi-ciency and availability of the crusher. The A2020 automa-tion unit guarantees constant choke feeding. It alsoimproves the liner utilization rate and thus the endproduct quality by promoting inter-particle crushing. The automation system keeps crushing at maximumoperational limits but within safety margins.
The Nordberg A2020 also records production informationand crusher performance. It gives graphic trending ofup to 24 hours of operation, which improves reportingcapabilities. Automation makes it possible to performanalyses and corrective actions based on process varia-tions, and to decrease the need for wear part calibration.
Friendly for the operatorAdvanced automation, easy adjustment and a limitednumber of maintenance points make the Nordberg GPSeries really friendly for the operator. The automationsystem helps the operator to find the right crusher set-tings quickly and easily. You need less human surveillanceduring crushing.
Hydraulic adjustment of the crusher is safe and fast, andcan be performed continuously under crushing load. Forservice, GP cones can be dismantled completely fromthe top. Changing of the liners does not need any backingmaterials thanks to the machined wear parts.
A pressurized sealing system keeps the crusher cleaner, resulting in longer filter change intervals and morereliable crusher operation.

Comprehensive pre- andaftersales product supportEvery Nordberg GP cone crusher is backed by MetsoMinerals' comprehensive, worldwide pre- and aftersalesservice. Our pre-sales service begins with analyzing andplanning of your particular needs. Whether you need asingle crusher, a multi-stage process or a complete plant,Metso Minerals can advise you on the right solution forthe most cost-efficient crushing.
The computerized Bruno process simulation softwarehas already become a proven standard in the crushingindustry. Just tell Bruno what rock quality, feed materialsize and machines you want to use, and Bruno will sim-ulate the expected production capacities and gradationcurves for you.
In aftersales service, Metso Minerals has a global teamof crushing professionals ready to help you. Spare andwear parts are always close to you.
Nordberg GP goes withevery crushing applicationThe new Nordberg GP cone crushers cover the widestpossible range of crushing applications. Four typicalcrusher sizes are available for secondary crushing, alto-gether a selection of eight different cavity profiles. An-other five crusher sizes are available for tertiary andquaternary crushing, collectively over 20 different cavityprofiles.
GP series crushers employ technical solutions that min-imize physical dimensions without compromising relia-bility or performance. GP crushers, for example, are about30% lower than traditional cone crushers. Their compactsize and low weight contributes to high crush-ing per-formance. This has made the GP series crushers highlypopular with aggregate producers and mines, both instationary and mobile applications.
Over 2200 Nordberg GP type cone crushers are work-ing around the globe today, which attests to their first-class reliability and versatility. Take a closer look at MetsoMinerals and get up to speed with new GP-class crushing!
