English 9 Name________________________________________ Nonfiction unit Block______________ In the next few weeks, we will be exploring the areas of research, expository writing and persuasive rhetorical strategies in order to put together a project that reflects your understanding of all three areas. There will be class time and some library time available to completion of some of the parts of the project but you will also be expected to complete some of the work outside of class. The project will be divided into different parts, each with a separate due date and point total. Failure to complete any assignment or to hand it in late will result in a zero or points deducted. You will be asked to hand in this packet throughout the project, so keep it in a safe place and bring it to class everyday during our work on this project. Assignment 1. CHOICE OF LOCATION. You will download a photo of the symbol and will explain the symbol’s relationship to your place on a notecard. We will post both the symbol and the explanation on world map that will hang in the classroom during this project. POINT TOTAL: 10 pts. During this assignment, I learned Assignment 2.
