I will be loyal to the United Methodist Church by my prayers,
my presence, my gifts, my service and my witness.
From The Pastor’s Desk Matthew 18:4-5 2 And He called a child to Himself and set him
before them, 3 and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted
and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. 4
"Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the
kingdom of heaven. 5 "And whoever receives one such child in My
name receives Me; NASV
Jesus used object lesson often in his teaching and preaching. In this
text Jesus uses a child to teach us about being humble, sincere and
innocent. If we want to grow in out faith, if we want to be great for
the Kingdom of God, we must become like a little child. It is very
easy for small children to completely trust their parents and older
siblings. Jesus wants us to have that same child like trust. The
following poem is a good example of our need to become like
children.
Andrew Giles
From Masterpiece of Religious Verse
Last night my little boy confessed to me
Some childless wrong;
And kneeling at my knee,
He prayed with tears—
“Dear God, make me a man
Like Daddy—wise and strong;
I know you can.”
Then while he slept
I knelt before his bed,
Confessed my sins,
And prayed with low-bowed head,
“O God, make me a child
Like my child here—
Pure, guileless
Trusting Thee with faith sincere.”
Reverend Jeff Lambert

...The God-of-Heaven will make sure we succeed. We're his servants and we're going to work, rebuilding … We kept at it, repairing and rebuilding the wall. The whole wall was soon joined together and halfway to its intended height because the people had a heart for the work. Nehemiah 2:20, 4:6
