U-DriveThe configurable, high-cycle operator system for non spring-balanced roller shutters and grilles.

U-Drive is an extremely powerful operator designed to chain-drive non spring-balanced roller shutters, growing in use within high-cycle applications such as carparks and warehouse docks. It is available in two variations, for very high-cycle shutters up to 18m² (typical carparks) and low-cycle shutters in industrial applications up to 34m².

With an extremely robust gearbox and fan-cooled motor with solenoid brake, the operator is designed for heavy lifting and high-cycle counts.

The U-Drive range also includes an innovative mounting system for the door drum and operator. Offering many mounting options, it is ideal for tight applications.

Non spring-balanced doors are becoming increasingly popular for vehicular access applications. Due to the high-volume of use and speed requirements, springless door drums offer incredible longevity without need to maintain springs.

Without spring-balancing, extra consideration needs to be given to door safety. For this reason U-Drive is supplied with an AS/NZS compliant safety brake which is mounted on the non-driven end of the door drum.

The Chamberlain Group factory in West Gosford, NSW, Australia manufactures the U-Drive operator. It is continually updated with modern manufacturing equipment and processes to maintain an excellent level of craftsmanship and quality. Grifco has been manufacturing for over 100 years in Australia.

Carpark Door Automation

U-Drive is ideal for non spring-balanced roller shutters and grilles commonly found in underground carparks. When controlled by Grifco’s GLMe2 portfolio of logic controls, U-Drive becomes carpark ready with safety beams (as shown) and complete carpark intelligence. Accessories such as traffic lights (shown above), entrapment protection and remote transmitter management can all be added to suit the application’s needs.

U-Drive features two certified mounting kits for the entire door installation. Mounting kits are designed for easy installation and alignment. The mounting brackets feature durable zinc-plated steel (8mm or 10mm) for corrosion resistance as well as robust fixing hardware. With a high-quality bearing and safety brake, the system is designed for easy selection and installation.

Management

The GLMe2 portfolio of Logic Controls provides ultimate control for U-Drive, especially in high-cycle applications such as carparks. The wall control allows commissioning at floor level, with all configurations such as door direction, limit setting, timer-to-close and transmitter management accessed at the wall.

The GLMe2 portfolio offers two variants as shown, with a wide range of access control and logic expansion features - qualities you have come to expect from Grifco.

The two designs offer incredible mounting flexibility. The door drum can be easily aligned and positioned and the operator can be mounted in multiple configurations as highlighted below. This is ideal for tight applications with low headroom or side room, common in carparks and some industrial facilities.
