MCV Matters June 2020

Connect. Protect. Elect.Turning Montana values into priorities.

Makoshika State Park, MTDear Montana Conservation Voter:

Whew—what a wild couple of months! We hope this finds

you safe and well as we finally(!) head into warmer weather. We at MCV have kept ourselves busy these last few weeks. We decided to re-engage our members with this newsletter, which will be available online on a monthly

basis and delivered in print a couple of times a year. We’ve also just launched our new website, mtvoters.org. We invite you to check it out!And we’ve started an exciting new podcast, MCVcast, to keep members apprised of critical conservation news. MCV’s mission is “to protect our climate, our clean air and water, our public lands, our communities and future generations by supporting leaders who fight for conservation and by holding accountable leaders who do not.” And we continue to keep track of what our elected decision-makers are doing in Helena and in Washington. Whatever the “new normal” means for Montana, that mission is more important than ever. On behalf of the entire team at MCV, thank you for being the most important part of our mission. Please don’t hesitate to be in touch, Aaron Murphy, Executive Director

2020 Election Update

We at MCV remain laser-focused on the looming 2020 elections and the implications it might

have on our clean air and water and our public lands. This year almost every elected office in Montana will be up for election including our U.S. Senate and House seats, our Governor and the rest of the Montana Land Board, and other local positions. It’s imperative to elect conservation champions to office at every level, but we can’t do that without your help and support. Check out our website for a list of endorsed candidates at mtvoters.org/endorsements.

MCV Newsroom

With the current COVID-19 global pandemic, many of our tactics, like canvassing and face-to-face

meetings, are no longer feasible. But at MCV, adapting is what we do. We are committed to creatively finding ways to connect you with the information you need about conservation, candidates and voting rights issues impacting our state. To learn more about how we’re continuing to hold Senator Steve Daines accountable to fully fund public lands, how we’re pressuring TC Energy to halt construction on the KXL pipeline or who we’ve endorsed as conservation champions, please visit our online newsroom at mtvoters.org/newsroom or by following us on social media.
