Virtual Reality Class

We are seeking 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students interested in ex-periencing virtual worlds! Stu-dents that are curious can learn how to use the Oculus Rift head-set for Virtual Reality. This Vir-tual Reality class is being of-fered by the Buffalo Island Cen-tral EAST Program.

The first week of class, students will use the applica-tion called First Contact which will teach the students how to use the basic controls of the Oculus.

The second week of class, students will use Sketch-book that will show kids how to bring their imagina-tion to life using this artistic application.

The third week of class, students will use the Google Earth application which will let students see the world from a different perspective.

The fourth week of class, students will use Jam Session which will help bring out their musical talents using a variety of instruments pro-vided in the application.

Firearm Safety Class

Firearm Safety and Marksmanship Learn proper gun handling to promote firearm safety while developing marksmanship. Course includes in-struction on safety & operation of guns plus hands-on training at the fir-ing range. Bring guns & ammunition to the range only. Introduction to Beekeeping

Want to learn more about honey bees and polli-

nators? Considering beekeeping, but want to

learn more before you invest? Just bought your

bees and equipment, now what? Have some ex-

perience in beekeeping but not quite confident in

what you're doing? Then this class is for you! In-

troduction to Bees and Beekeeping will focus on

the principles of beekeeping. Learn the history of beekeeping, honeybee biol-

ogy, plant and pollinator relationships, and essential equipment & require-

ments. By the end of this class, you will be ready to work your own colony

the first year, and be able to help experienced beekeepers with their hives.

This class is part of the Midwest Master Beekeeper Program. Course fee in-

cludes a student manual.

Join Mary Ann for a day excursion to Moss Mountain Farm, home of P. Allen Smith , garden designer and television host. Your tour includes:

A guided tour of three levels of Allen’s Jefferson-inspired Arkansas Farm home.

A guided exploration of Allen’s terraced gardens overlooking the Arkansas River, the English rose garden, and his ornamental one acre vegetable garden.

Enjoy a beautiful spring day visiting the

Memphis Botanic Garden where you will

participate in a gardening workshop. The

experts at MBG will show you how to cre-

ate a beautiful container garden. You’ll

learn what it takes to make eye-appealing

seasonal indoor and outdoor containers .

We will then head out to lunch (on your

own), before heading back to Blytheville.
