The Primary in Ohio
• Ohio has a closed primary (but, unaffiliated can vote)– closed vs. open
• primary takes place in May
• 17-year-olds can vote for candidates if 18 by the general election

• precinct- a voting district
• polling place- the place where the voters who live in a precinct actually vote (located somewhere in or near the precinct)– generally open from 7/8am-7/8pm– poll watchers from each party are
present to observe the election
