Nomad is a collection of handbags inspired by ethnic aesthetic from the old earth. With each

bag created through practice of true artisan craftsmanship, Nomad evokes a raw, edgy and exotic style yet portrays strong

femininity, elegance, and beauty.

Nomad derives its tribal influence from its silhouette and also, uses unique raw materials to create the line. The key element

of each handbags is the “Banig,” which is a hand woven mat made of palm, pandan, or sea grass leaves. The leaves are dried,

usually dyed, then cut into strips and woven to create intricate textures and design. Fabrics like leather, suede and velvet with

silver, brass and wood hardware are added on to the banig to give it a modern feel. Finally, the handbags are embellished with

elaborate beadwork.

To be recognized in Global Retail is Nomad’s vision with the philosophy of incorporating culture in fashion for it to become a

way of life. This brand is an offshore production from the Philippines that ensures excellent, quality workmanship but also

creates employment for workers in the third world country.

will donate a portion of its profit to the Nomad Housing Foundation, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to developing a

decent housing community for the artisans and workers of Nomad to help elevate them from poverty.

Nomad’s collection for this season will be available at the brand’s website and an online luxury boutique, Couturelab.com.This website aims to bring together world-class designers and entrepreneurs to feature their eclectic, unique and luxurious work, making it available to clientele around the world.

For Carmen Busquets, co-founder/major investor of Net-a-porter and Couture Lab “The key mission of [this website] is to maintain the value of human craftsmanship and keep creative individuality alive. This is CoutureLab and this is my vision of what luxury mean.”

Concert at the ParkThe launch Nomad’s first collection, Earth, will be held at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. A concert by ethnic musicians Pinikpikan serve as music for the Fashion Show. The venue would be decorated to resemble an enchanted forest.

Cocktails and light dinner would be served.

Arrested MotionA photography exhibit would launch the second collection, Metal. Highly proclaimed fashion photographers are invited to participate and interpret Nomad which will showcase in an Art exhibit at the Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco.

Cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres will be served.

ReincarnationTo launch the final collection, Wood, a dinner and charity auction will be held at the St. Regis Hotel. A significant portion of the profit will be donated to the Nomad Housing Foundation.
