TRANSCRIPT
The Dynanet Data & VF unit, DVIU, is designed to provide data and VF interfaces with the 2048 kbit/s transmission systems. The core of Nokia DYNANET consists of primary multiplexing, digital branching and digital cross-connect equipment. Data & VF Unit provide more flexibility, compactness and space saving in data and voice application where only a limited number of different types of interfaces are needed.

DVIU, product features
The Nokia DYNANET data & VF interface unit can be used with most Nokia DYNANET products and they can freely be installed together with Data- and VF-channelunits. Data and voice time slots can be freely mixed and they all can be transmitted via same E1 link. The DVIU is connected to Dynacard bus and it can be installed to all Dynanet subracks. DVIU needs a master unit that multiplexes data to the TDM network. DM2, DM2+, DB2, DN2 or ACM2 can operate as a master unit. Furthermore, thanks to the dynamic characteristic of the Nokia DYNANET equipment, the allocation of data & voice channels can be altered as required via the service interface both locally and remotely.
The Nokia Dynanet Data & VF interface unit consists of five different interfaces. Two data interfaces, V.11 and V.24, Ethernet interface and two voice interfaces, SUB and E&M. In addition the unit also has an own ringing generator.
Data interface and Ethernet
Ethernet interface operates as a transparent bridge and it provides one independent 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet interfaces. The Ethernet port has been combined over the WAN and all protocols are simply passed through from LAN side to WAN. Ethernet packets are carried over the TDM network in HDLC frame.
The Nokia DYNANET DVIU data interfaces cover V.11 and V.24/V.28 interfaces. The adaptation into the time slots of the 2048 kbit/s frame can be done using standard V.110 or direct adaptation

DVIU, product features
Technical DataSUB and E&M interface
The E&M interface has a variety of features controlled by software, e.g. channel level settings or 2-wire or 4-wire control. SUB provides normal POTS channel features. It can also be used in hot line applications.
Ringing Generator
The ring generator is needed with subscriber interface to generate the ringing voltage used for the ringing tone of the telephone set. The ringing generator of DVIU can provide the ringing voltage also to other Dynanet SUB units installed in the same subrack. The ringing voltage fed from DVIU has to be isolated from backplane if external ringing generator is in use. This is the factory setting. If the ringing voltage is needed in other SUB units in the same subrack, ringing voltage can be fed to the backplane.
