Ambient Plant Noise Levels
Noise measurements:Sept. 8th and Nov. 28th - 29th, 2006
Noise survey notes:
1. Noise measurements are of ambient plant noise levels. Noise measurements are not for impulsive noises due to passing forktrucks, air blow guns, pneumatic impact drivers, plant intercom announcements, etc.
2. During use of air blow gun, noise levels at operator's ear were measuredto be 95 to 101 dBA. Duration is typically a few seconds per event.
3. During noise survey, sealant batching operations were not beingperformed. Therefore, no noise levels are shown in sealant batching room.
4. In shipping at crating wood shop, noise levels in map are not foroperation of radial arm saw or pneumatic nail gun. During operation of radialarm saw, measured noise levels at operator's ear are 97 dBA when running and107 to 109 dBA when cutting. Saw is typically used a few times per shift; eachoperating event is typically 0.5 to 1 minute.
5. In weld shop, noise levels in map are for welding operations performed in threeworkstations. Noise levels are not for abrasive grinding operations.
