Page 1: Noir A8 Original

Dear all,

First of all, I don't take any responsibility if you brick your phone or something goes wrong. I personally tested this on QMobile Noir A8

I got my hands on my friend's Qmobile Noir A8 with Icecream Sandwich as default OS. (Version 4.1.1). I've got the stock rom so I wanted to test it. So I practically tested this on QMobile Noir A8 with Icecream Sandwich (4.0.0) and upgraded it to stock Qmobile Noir A8 Jelly Bean. I used following tools:-

a. MTKdroidTools v2.30b. SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1224.01c. SP_Drivers_v1.4d. My Firmware

The process is simple.

1. Make sure you have installed the Qmobile Noir A8 usb adb drivers as well as MediaTek DA usb drivers. (You can find them all in the attachements SP_Drivers_V1.4 and A8_usb_driver).

2. Download firmware archive and unzip to a folder. You will get a folder with following files :-

android-info.txt apdb_mt6577_s01_main2.1_w10.24 apdb_mt6577_s01_main2.1_w10.24_enum boot.img bplguinfocustomappsrcp_mt6577_s00_maui_11amd_w12_2 2_sp_v15 cache.img dsp_bl ebr1 fat.img files.txt installed-files.txt kernel_gionee77_cu_jb.bin logo.bin mbr mt6577_android_scatter_emmc.txt preloader_gionee77_cu_jb.bin ramdisk-recovery.img ramdisk.img recovery.img secro.img

3. Now turn off your Qmobile Noir A8 and pull out the battery.

4. Run SP Flash Tool (run as administrator if you are using windows 7/8, in my case I was using windows 8 x64). Now click on Scatter-loading button and choose MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc file from my firmware folder. You will see all the regions will be selected and you can see the relevant files from the folder.

5. Now press Firmware->Upgrade button and put battery back in your Qmobile Noir A8 and plug in the usb cable.

6. If you have already installed the VCOM drivers it will detect it and a red progress bar will be shown. After 100% your mobile will disconnect and reconnect (at this stage Mediatek DA usb drivers will be installed for your device if you already have installed them if not install the drivers and repeat the process). A few more progress bars will be shown and after 5~10 mins you will get a green circle and OK at status bar.

7. Congratulations, you have just upgraded your QMobile Noir A8 from Icecream Sandwich to Jelly Bean.

8. Now just pull out your battery and put it back in and turn on your mobile. Wow! its that simple and great.

I have personally checked everything is working great and 100%.
