As golfers prepare for a busy final day of the Indiana Open atBrickyard Crossing Golf Course today,Hamilton County can now claim four of thetop eight positions after Wednesday's sec-ond round.

Leading the pack, both locally andstatewide, is Timothy Hildebrand. The re-cent Westfield graduate kept up his torridpace from Tuesday's first round, shooting afour-under 68 in his second round effort. That moved Hildebrand to a nine-under135 for the tournament and gave him athree-shot lead at the event's halfway point.

Hildebrand matched his first-round per-formance with another six birdies onWednesday. That gave the Purdue-boundgolfer a total of 12 birdies for the tourna-

ment.Vincennes' Adam Schenk currently sits in second place with a

six-under 138. Right behind him is former Noblesville and BallState star Eric Steger, who is five-under with a 139. Steger hadanother solid outing on Wednesday, shooting a two-under 70 forhis second round. That total included five birdies.

Meanwhile, there is currently a four-way tie for fifth place at athree-under 141, with two young Hamilton County golfers amongthat list.
