Newsletter
After lots of discussion with our students, staff and community we have
finalised our school value and vison statement. You may have already seen
them displayed throughout our school buildings. We have decided that our
vison will be;
Aim High, Achieve together
and our school value will be
RESPECT
Yourself
Others
And your
Environment
Aim High, Achieve together was already a valued part of our school vision.
We all have high expectations for our students and believe that they can
achieve. We want them to aim high for their goals and to believe in
themselves. Achieving together is around team work. Parents, students and
staff are working together to achieve the very best for our students and
families. Students have been exploring Growth Mindsets and how they can
work to develop their stamina.
Respect was a value everyone in our community felt strongly about. We
wanted a value that was simple and could easily be remembered and
embedded by our whole school community from preschool to year 7.
Early next term students will start to discuss what our vision and value mean.
They will learn how this will look at school, home and in our community. It
would be great if you could have a discussion with your child about what
showing respect looks like in your home. We will be using this vision and value
in our discussions with students when they are reflecting on their learning,
attitude and behaviour at school.

What’s Happening In Room 8?
We have been learning about the earth and how it rotates around the sun. We
have also learned about what causes day and night.
We have looked at how the sun moves throughout the day and creates shadows.
We looked at how our shadows changed over the course of the day.
Morning shadows Afternoon shadows
Earlier in the term
we participated in
cooking lessons with
Jenni and have
enjoyed making lots
of different healthy
meals and desserts.
Camp
We still have a number of families that have yet to pay
the deposit for camp. Please remember that...
Friday 26 July 2019 (Week 1) is the due date for final
payment. This is a great opportunity for our students to
experience learning in a different environment. If you
would like to know more about the camp site we are
visiting please have a look at the Arbury park website
