The whole Settima three screw and gear pump rangefor utilization in marine applications

Settima Meccanica designs and manufactures hydraulic 3 screw pumps and helical rotor pumps. Settima screw pumps, coupled together with external orimmersed motors, run quietly and with no pulsations, they are used in hydraulic applications and systems of many types. Settima Screw pumps arepositive displacement rotary pumps with axial flow design. There are only three moving parts. The power rotor is the only driven part that extends outsidethe case. The idler screws act as sealing parts and are turned hydraulically by the fluid being pumped. There is only a rolling action between the drive screwand the idler ones. The rolling action eliminates noise and vibration.

The SMT pump can manage high viscosityfluids and is profitably used in any oil circulationactivity and marine applications up to 100 bar.A model for USA market (SMAT) is available.

The SMAPI pumps are manufactured according toAPI 676 3rd edition. They are used in marineapplications for boiler ignition / feeding and fueltransfer up to 60 bar.

The FOTP pumps are tandem units (2 fluids,main + spare) that can handle any fuel oil. Theyare especially suited for marine, power generationand filtration applications up to 80 bar.

The SMT16B pump has the widest range ofapplications, including cooling, filtration, mineraland synthetic oil plants, and marine applicationsup to 40 bar.A model for USA market (SMAT16B) is available.

The SFO pump is designed for lubrication andcirculation of diesel oil engines, hydro turbines,and other marine and industrial applications upto 40 bar.

Settima Flowmeter is especially designed for themetering of viscous fluids. The unit worksvolumetrically according to the principle of screwtransmitters with high accuracy. It can operateup to a viscosity of 40.000 cSt.

Ultra Low Sulphur Fuel OilsThe International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in 1973 adopted the firstInternational Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL).This is the main international convention covering prevention of pollution of the marineenvironment by ships from operational or accidental causes. Later, it became a Protocolin 1978 and was expanded in more recent years by subsequent Annexes.The Annex VI, Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships (entered into force 19 May2005), set very rigorous limits on sulphur oxide and nitrogen oxide emissions fromship exhausts and prohibited deliberate emissions of ozone depleting substances (lessthan 1,5% max); designated emission control areas set more stringent standards forSOx, NOx and particulate matter. In 2010, this limits were lowered to 1,0% max, and in2015 they will be drastically lowered to 0,5% top, with a maximum of 0,1% in EmissionControl areas.

Settima range of specialized pumps for marine applications are designed to perfectly handle ultra low sulphur fuels,such as the LS 380, the LS 180 ant the LS MGO, according to the new, very severe regulations and ISO 8217 standard!

Did you know? Settima SMAPI API676 pumps were utilized for diesel oil transfer during to only voyage of the FSRU Toscana, the colossal floating gasstorage/production facility offshore Livorno. All the previous pumps were unable to manage the extreme stress of fuel injection and power generation onboard, and theyfailed. Coincidentally, Settima (meaning ‘seventh’ in italian language) was the seventh company appointed for the job, and the first one to succeed!

The Settima Flowmeter is an extremely precise instrument toaccurately assess the flows of oils and fuels.
