If you have an ongoing outstanding balance it could affect your child/childrens school dinner entitlement for the term and their meals may be stopped. LOST PROPERTY Please make sure you check in the containers by the school office if you have misplaced / lost any school uniform, coats, hats scarves etc. There have been a few items there for some time, if not collected by the end of this term, we will be donating any items left to charity. PUNCTUALITY SCHOOL STARTS AT 8.50 A.M. AND COLLECTION TIME IS 3.15 P.M. IF YOU FAIL TO COLLECT YOUR CHILD OR CHILDREN BY 3.30 P.M. THERE WILL BE A FEE OF £5 PER CHILD FOR EVERY 15 MINUTES YOU ARE LATE. Remember that children should not be left on their own in the playground before 8:45am in the morning. If you bring your child to school, and they attend breakfast club, you must accompany them to the hall. SCHOOL UNIFORM We are always delighted to see so many of our children looking smart in their school uniforms. This is a gentle reminder that we expect all children to wear the correct school uniform. Black or grey trousers (no leggings) or skirt; white polo t-shirt or shirt ; black or grey socks; black shoes or plain black trainers with no other colour on them and our school jumper. Thank you for your continued support with this matter. Uniform is no longer available from the school office. It can only be purchased from White Hall Clothiers in Lewisham. TUTORS It is important for parents and carers to know that there are no regulations governing tutors. While many tutors are skilled at developing a childs learning, they do not need qualifications to work in this field. In fact, a person can be barred from teaching or commit an offence which makes them unsuitable to work with children, can still offer their services as a tutor. Local Authorities and schools cannot provide a list of approved professionals who work as tutors. Therefore, it is the parents/carersresponsibility to make sure the tutor is qualified and does not pose a risk to their child. We recommend that parents take steps to check that tutors are suitable : use tutors through reputable agencies; carry out your own reference checks; interview prospective tutors to minimise the risk to your child/ren; and explain to your children how to keep themselves safe. Whilst it is not the law, some tutors may be DBS checked– you have a right to request to see this document. If you have any questions regarding external tutoring, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of SLT. If tutoring is taking place in your home or the home of a tutor– please do not leave children alone. WORKSHOPS AND TRIPS This is a gentle reminder that without contributions for trips and visits, we will not be able to continue providing the wide range of enriching real life experiences for your children. Your contributions and support are vital in continuing to ensure all children at Lucas Vale have the best opportunities. Dear Parents and Carers, We hope this newsletter finds you well! Attendance & Punctuality

There are far too many YEAR 6 pupils taking time off or

coming into school late. This year is SO important for Year

6’s as they have their SATs in May. Please ensure your

child is in school and on time EVERY DAY unless very ill.

Request to Leave:

Due to the high number of absences due to holidays, the

Local Authority has advised that ALL Requests to Leave

that have not been authorised by the Head of School MUST

be forwarded to Lewisham so that they can issue a Fixed

Penalty Notice . Only leave with exceptional circumstances

will be authorised. Evidence may be requested.

If a child has 10 unauthorised absences in a 12 week peri-

od, a Fixed Penalty Notice can also be issued.

*Important Notice*

If you have any concerns with any pupils or their families

within our school community, please DO NOT approach

them directly! Please see a member of the Senior Leader-

ship team (Miss Tina, Mr Wills or Miss Brumby) who will

deal with your concern as soon as possible.

You risk being banned from the School Premises if you

approach pupils or their families regarding any problems

you may have.

Thank you for your cooperation.
