Certiport's Teacher of the Month: David Rowland
“Back to school” season has officially given way to just “school” season.
Although fall is arguably one of the best seasons (who doesn’t love cider and
sweaters?), it can be hard to stay motivated. The days are shorter, school is
officially back in the routine, and those challenging students are back in your
classroom.
We are excited to announce a new program designed for sharing ideas and
inspiration for your classroom. We’re officially starting our “Teacher of the
Month” series here on our blog. We’ll be working to discover and highlight the
amazing work done by our teachers across the country.
This month we’re headed down to Georgia to highlight Mr. David Rowland.

What Practice Tests Are Available for MOS Certification?
Learn. Practice. Certify. The “Practice” portion is crucial to getting students
certified. Luckily Certiport has partnered with GMetrix to help your students
assess their understanding of the Microsoft Office programs you cover in class.

Certiport Supports the World Economic Forum's ASEAN
Digital Skills Initiative
"A survey of 56,000 young people in the ASEAN region revealed that they
want to upgrade skills to succeed in a changing job market."
While ASEAN youth shows a strong desire to work in the tech sector, STEM
skills (including software design and programming, data analytics and maths
and science) represent three of the four weakest skills.
To address these gaps, the ASEAN Digital Skills Vision 2020 program under
the World Economic Forum's Digital ASEAN initiative is working to train 20
million workers in digital skills by 2020 and to provide internship and
scholarship opportunities."
Certiport is engaging with the WEF on this initiative by pledging to help
develop and upgrade digital and entrepreneurial skills in 10 countries in the
region.

My ACA Certification Helped Me Get a Job in Marketing
Adobe skills can take you farther than you think. With skills in Creative Cloud,
students and recent graduates are finding that they can land jobs outside of
the traditional creative field. Lily Wilson, a current graphic design student at
Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Scotland is the perfect
example. Lily earned her Adobe Certified Associate Photoshop certification in
2016 but has been able to expand her career options beyond graphic design.
