Key points discussed were: A focus for all schools is the powerful question; How do you know? The School Improvement Team continue to focus professional conversations and work on the AIP within a Google platform, thus monitoring is ongoing and collegiate of nature. Additional support is being provided to Mr Rob Smart in the important leadership role he has as Strategic Intent Leader. Robs key role for the remainder of 2017, leading to 2018, is tying the curriculum and learning data together, in preparation for the writing of the 2018 AIP and 2018 school review. He has noted that the turn around of the school and the organisational buzz is notable. Such progress could not be possible without the enormous support from the students, staff and community of which I lead proudly. 2017 Regional Principal Forum Mrs Sally Herbert and myself attended the Principal Forum on Thursday, 15 and Friday 16 June. Thank you to Mrs Melanie Williams for being the Acting Principal for the two days. The conference was an extremely worthwhile opportunity to share and discuss with 650+ school Principals, Assistant Principals, SEILs, EILs, Network leaders, Regional Director, DET Secretary and Deputy Secretary and the Honorary James Merlino (Minister of Education). The conference focused on Inspired Teaching and Learning; Creating the Education State. We were humbled to be addressed by national and international key note speakers discussing educational reform from London to Ontario and Toronto. Leading collaborative learning in purposeful and positive professional learning communities was a powerful undertone to the conference. Turning good teachers into great leaders was of significance and how this can be translated on a local level. The finality of the conference was summed up in a motivational manner by the Reverend Tim Costello; focusing on striving for excellence and equity in contemporary Australia. Sally and I are truly inspired by a number of influential facets, that will be unpacked in the coming months. Staffing update Miss Jessica Doolan will be attending the Somers Camp as a Cranbourne South Primary School representative, Tuesday, 20 June – Wednesday, 28 June (inclusive). In addition, school representatives are provided with two additional days in lieu of the weekend whilst on camp. Therefore, Jessica will be absent until Friday, 30 June; returning to work on Monday, 17 July. I am happy to advise that Mr Greg Woodstock will be the 5a replacement teacher during this time. Ms Colette Joannidis will be taking leave from Monday, 26 June – Friday, 21 July returning to work on Monday, 24 July. Miss Phillipa Atherton will be the 6a replacement teacher for the one week. MONIQUE CORCORAN and SALLY HERBERT Parent X wished to say thank you for the leadership opportunities her daughter is engaged in. Hi Monique, Just wanted to share with you how proud my daughter was to be asked to open the assembly and help announce and give out the awards at the Junior school assembly today. She took pride in practising her lines last night and made extra effort to try and pronounce Bunurong and Wurundjeri correctly. Just for her to be given the opportunity to step up in this leadership role has encouraged her to set herself even bigger goals. My daughter said to me last night while practising, "I want to be school captain when I'm in year 6". Thank you for encouraging the students to step up and to believe in themselves to be leaders. I was a very proud mum at assembly today. Have a great day. Thanks Parent X. Dear Parents/Guardians, SEIL Peter Greenwell visits Peter Greenwell, Senior Education Improvement Leader has visited CSPS twice of recent to discuss important Department of Education matters:

Monday, 22 May: Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) half year monitoring Peter was glowing of the progress our school has been making with the ‘ambitious’ 2017 AIP. Key points discussed were:

A focus for all schools is the powerful question; How do you know? The School Improvement Team continue to focus professional conversations and work on the AIP within a Google platform, thus monitoring is ongoing and collegiate of nature.

Additional support is being provided to Mr Rob Smart in the important leadership role he has as Strategic Intent Leader. Rob’s key role for the remainder of 2017, leading to 2018, is tying the curriculum and learning data together, in preparation for the writing of the 2018 AIP and 2018 school review.

New shipping containers You may have noticed new shipping containers on our property (next to 1b classroom/Kiss and Go Zone). We require the communities support to remind students, past and present, that these are not play equipment and to keep off; not only for security but safety purposes. Your support in this matter is most appreciative.

Cadbury Drive In the next few weeks the Parents and Friends Association will be sending home chocolates for our annual Cadbury Chocolate Drive. If you DO NOT wish to participate in this fundraiser, please return the form sent out today no later than Thursday, 29 June, 2017 so that we can ensure that you do not receive a carry pack early next term.

The Asthma Foundation of Victoria provides free asthma education sessions for parents of school-age children. The session provides up-to-date information about asthma, medications, delivery devices and what to do in an asthma emergency. As a parent of a child with asthma, there is a lot to learn and knowing the basics about asthma and the latest about asthma management can help you ensure your child has well managed asthma. Your guidance through their early years helps your child understand their condition and develop good self- management skills as they become more responsible. This is important for setting them on a successful path to live well with their asthma through life. Who should attend: Parents and/or carers of children with asthma. Thanks to all who contributed to our first 5 Cent Challenge for this year. We have raised $488.25. A huge congratulations to 1A who were the winning class for Term 2, raising a massive $125.35. With great excitement, our students from the senior school took to the field to participate in this year's lightning premiership last Friday 16th June. We are pleased to confirm that our T-ball, Girls Soccer and Girls Netball teams were all successful and have qualified for the Division playoffs early next term. We'll keep you posted. I wish to thank all the senior school teachers for their commitment to training up our teams, our students for their fantastic attitude and sportsmanship and to our many parents who came to support our teams. It truly was a fantastic day. Greg Booth Vikings conquer Lightening Prem Tee-Ball Congratulations to the Vikings Tee-Ball team from Cranbourne South. Last Friday they won the Lightning Premiership undefeated in all of their four rounds. A special mention goes out to Jay Henry and Sam Toner who have worked hard coaching the team for the past month. The team player of the series was TK Upton. To all

the players; you showed enormous dedication by training three lunchtimes every week for four weeks. You deserve this success due to your contagious passion and persistence. Thanks also to the parents who came along and supported the Vikings and the Invaders on Lightning Premiership Day. We were proud to turn on our best for you all. Thankyou The Working Bee was a fantastic success with an excellent attendance and most of the jobs ticked off. Our ’To

Do” list The new backboards, purchased by the PFA, are up and look fantastic. The green shed is totally empty and the packing containers are packed. Many of the garden beds have been re-mulched and a general garden tidy up was done. Many thanks to the families and staff who attended; many hands make light work. Next Working Bees will be held in Term 3/4. A special thank you to those families that went beyond the call of duty and expectation by sneaking into the school grounds on Sunday, 18 June to make an additional contribution; you know who you are and we greatly appreciate your anonymity. Families are also welcome to drop off their unwanted printer/photocopier and fax machine cartridges from the list below. A box is provided at the front office for disposal.
