A job fair was organized at Samalkha Group of

Institutions on 15th March, 2011, attracted a huge

number of aspirants. The main objective of this event

was to provide placement opportunities for

Engineering and M.B.A Students. Corporate giants

like HCL, AIRCEL, UTI MUTUAL FUND, WNS etc.

participated in the Job fair. As many as 2,000 students

Candidates were allowed to register themselves online for the fair. There were also

on-spot registrations. More than 6,000 registrations were received. What made

the fair a success was a wide spectrum of companies that took participation in the

event. There were Software, Communication, Marketing & finance companies.

The activity which started at 9.30 a.m. went on till late evening.

As a part of the Campus Recruitment

Drive Programme, Samalkha Group of

institutions organized a open placement

Drive for UNICON REAL ESTATE on

29th March, 2011. More than 200

students appeared for the test.

A team of experts visited the campus for the recruitment process. The flow of the event was as follows:

A written test of more than 1 hour was held for the students.

An HR Interview for those who cleared the test.

Out of the 200 students who appeared for the interview, more than 30 students got shortlisted.

Discussion and Personal Interview camps at

various locations i.e Patna, Ranchi, Gaya,

Dhanbad, Srinagar, Jammu and Himachal Pradesh.

Career counseling was also provided to the

students. Career counselor from SGI rendered

necessary counseling to students aspiring to

become engineers and managers. Response was

very heavy and students and parents were highly

satisfied with the professional advice rendered by

SGI counselors.

SGI express its gratitude to all the parents and students for the keen interest

shown by them.

The festival of colours ‘Holi’, an important

festival of our Indian tradition, was

celebrated with huge pomp and show at

Samalkha Group of Institutions on March

19, 2011 to herald the coming of spring and

mark the legend of triumph of good over

evil.

The faculty played Holi with natural organic

colours. Further keeping in mind that World

Water Day – WWD falls on March 22nd, the

celebrations kept in mind that splashing and wastage of water was to be strictly

avoided.

Everyone danced on the beats of dhol and in the rain of gulal, sweets were

distributed among all of the faculty members. An ‘Antakshri’ competition was held

on this occasion, and some faculty members also presented Sher-o-Shayri and the

scene was so beautiful because everyone was spreading the message of love,

affection, integration and regarding rich tradition of India.

Samalkha Group of Institutions tied-up with Project Management Associates on

24th March, 2011 for propagating project management ideas and practices in

India, to create awareness of the imperatives of sound project management

methodology as the backbone for the growth of society.

Project Management Associates, a vibrant non-profit national body of project

managers in India, is a member of International Project Management Association

(IPMA), a body comprising of 50 National PM Associations from all over the

world, is providing the visionary direction to the project management profession

and facilitating the pooling of national experiences to form a global depository of

knowledge. IPMA's 4 Level Certification (4LC) scheme which is globally

recognized, is administered in India through PMCert National Certification body

of PMA India.
