PROGRAM OPTIONS
Pilot Program
NNSA GRADUATE PROGRAM (NGP)
Eligibility
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US Department of Energy Security Clearance.
• Must either:
• Be enrolled in a graduate program at time of application OR
• Have completed a graduate degree program within 12 months prior to the application deadline (10/21/2012 or after).
• Final and current cumulative GPA must be at least 3.20 in the graduate degree program
Program Information
• One-year contractor positions (first class: June 2014 – June 2015)
• Program Administered by PNNL at the direction of NA-MB
NNSA RECENT GRADUATE PILOT
PROGRAM (RGP)Eligibility
• US Citizen
• Completed an advanced degree or bachelors degree with one year of specialized experience within 2 years of start date, or within the last 6 for veterans
• 2.0 or higher GPA
• Vet’s preference applies in eligibility, interviews, and hiring
Appointments and conversion
• One-year appointments (first class: June 2014 – June 2015)
• May be noncompetitively converted (eligible, not entitled) if performance warrants.
• Program offices must have available positions and budget upon completion
LONG-TERM (YEAR-ROUND) INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Eligibility
• Currently enrolled in school at any level (high
school through Ph.D.)
• Full or part time (at least 6 semester-credit hours)
• Veteran’s preference applies
Appointment and conversion
• Participants may be in the program up to 4 years
while enrolled in school
• May be noncompetitively converted at the time of
graduation
SHORT-TERM (SUMMER) INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Eligibility
• Currently enrolled in school at any level (high school
through Ph.D.)
• Full or part time (at least 6 semester-credit hours)
• Veteran’s preference applies
Appointment and Conversion
• Students can be in the short-term program up to one
year
• May be noncompetitively converted
MINORITY SERVING INSTITUTIONS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Purpose
• Increase educational opportunities for minority students majoring in academic disciplines related to NNSA’s mission
Eligibility
• Enrolled at a participating Minority Serving Institution, undergraduate through Ph.D.
Appointment
• Position types/locations based on needs assessment/ job descriptions
• Full time (10-week program)
• May waive up to 320 working hours for participation in a Federal Pathways Program
