• Project Proposals / Production plans 10%– The bulk of this course will be based on the

successful completion of three major projects: one image-based, one web-based; one video-based. Each of these digital stories will involve development and submission of a proposal/production plan.

• Digital Story Project #2• Website based on “what we don’t see” in your

photo

• Digital Story Project #3• 1-3 minute video

• Creative Decisions • What kind of raw, original materials will you gather to create a short video?

• More still photos?• Interviews?• Landscape imagery from Lethbridge?• Will you compose music to accompany this work?

• Research Activity• Take note of television ads and television program opening sequences or short films on

YouTube that you appreciate

• Information about the day the photo was taken?• Information about the photographer?• Information presented in my artist statement?

• Research Activity• Gather/bookmark examples of websites that appeal to you

• Analyse the details of style that went into the design of the websites you’ve noted• Layout• Background Colours• Font• Use of Additional Images or not• Use of Audio or Not

• Getting Prepared• Digitizing Your Image

• If your original image is digital• Save it to a CD or external device for importing to the

lab computer• If your original image is NOT digital

• Scan it and save it as a jpeg file• Save it to a CD or external device for importing to the

lab computer• If you have absolutely no access to a scanner, access

a digital camera and take a digital photograph of your photograph

• Download and save this image to a CD or external device for importing to the lab computer
