Swami Vivekanandas Birthday was

celebrated as National Youth Day all

over India on the 12th of January and

Nachiketa Tapovan was no exception

to this phenomenon. We marked this

occasion by celebrating our Annual day

on the 11th January 2009. No stone was

left unturned by the ardent volunteers

as well as the talented participants to

serve a feast to the eyes of audience.

The occasion was graced by Sri J.

Rambabu, IAS (Retd.), Sri Prakash

Rao, AGM, SBI, Smt. Padmaja and

most of our well wishers. There was a

rainbow of colours, gaiety and

enthusiasm with a shower of sheer love

that drenched us all, present in the

ashram. More news on page no. 5

Every human being is in theevolution process, no matter what thatperson is. Every action of that personis judged by the performance not by

the process. But truth lies in theprocess. This process kindles the innerfire...and there is a kind of

awakening...a kind of understanding...akind perception...Therefore we shouldstart giving serious thought to processitself in order to understand the purpose

of life.

This process leads to understand

our very purpose of life and theneverything becomes more clear andeasy. Otherwise, people are just

spending their lives without knowingwhat they have in their inner chamberof the heart. I always believe thatwithout purpose in life there no life. Even

animals have some purpose in theirlives. But when it comes to humanbeings, we need to understand this lifedifferently and take every step wisely.

Mere worldly achievements in life arenot going to reveal the truth but will

make life more miserable. Thereforebefore taking any step towards or into

life we need to have great introspectionto find out the real purpose of life. Forevery human being there are differentroles to play in the life and once it isclear then functioning becomes a

wonderful journey itno bliss.

We can see around us many

people who are spiritual and never waverin their decision and work ceaselesslytowards the cause. Their life is morediscipline than others. Therefore we

should draw inspiration from them and

work for the higher goal in the lives.Yours in the service of Motherland

Devotion to the mother is the root of all welfare! You may delay, but the life will not. Celebrate the Moment!

The seeds were sown way back in1997. Once the Divine wills, no time iswasted in getting started. Things fellinto place and started happening. Theseed has been planted and a fabuloustree has emerged from that tiny seed

in the form of Nachiketa Tapovan. It wasestablished in 1999 as a non-profitable

spiritually oriented service organisationto spread moral and spiritual values.

Our Vidya Mandir activities werestarted in the nearby Madhapur Slumand later shifted to a temporary hutwhere our present building stands outelegantly today.The building camemuch later.

Now the tree- Nachiketa Tapovan-is heavily laden with fruits, providing

their helping hands and formed a groupof volunteers. We all live like one bigfamily, moulded and shaped inamazing ways by SwamiNachiketananda.

We invite you to join our family andhelp elevate humanity irrespective ofCaste, Creed, Community or Genderand look upon people as the absolutemanifestation of the divine.

It is a known fact that the cost of medical care is beyond thereach of the average person not to mention the poor. NachiketaTapovan conducts free medical camps on all the Sundays from

10 am to 12.30 pm. On an average 60 to 80 people of theunderprivileged community are deriving the benefits of freemedication. Thanks for worshipping God through this activity...

We extend our gratitude to Natco Pharma Ltd, Granules IndiaLtd., Reddy Labs and Ranbaxy for their generosity in supplying

free medicine to us. On the first Sunday of every month weconduct a special health camp. Maxi Vision and Drishti haveextended their support in conducting Special Eye camps at ourpremises, free of cost.

Out of purity and silence comes the word of power.

The students exhibited a kaleidoscope

of cultural activities ranging from

Mimicry to Dandiya. The combination

of hard work, devotion and

resourcefulness of the organizers and

the potential and ardor of the

participants resulted in a spectacleenjoyed by about 300 pairs of eyes.

The demonstration of asanas and the

vibrant Dandiya were the highlights of

this cultural event. On this eventful day

Padmaja. The newsletter will be in

your hands on the 10th and 25th of

each month carrying a hope of

support and response from you.The

crisp and colorful show came to an

VIDYA MANDIR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

The beautiful world in which we live andwhere from we learn the lessons of

survival lay outside the class room.

The benefits that and outdoor learning

activity has on children's mental,

physical and academic development

and the future of their success in life

is often not alloted the role that they

deserve. Thanks to Swamijis advocacy,

whenever time and funds permit, we

try our best to incorporate such

educational outings into our class

room learning. The excitement and

happiness with which the children

wait to go on such outings is

immeasurable. A trip to Nehru

Zoological park in mid-October provedto be educational as well as

recreational to our 3rd class students.

The children absorbed lots of

information about the animal kingdom

and their habitats. More such trips

would serve as great motivation for

them to put their best into this

endeavor to learn.

asanas and simple breathing patternswhich helps in developing deeper

awareness and curing various ailments.This programme simply brings life into

Yoga is internal journey!

The definition of Yoga has changedthrough its evolution. Now a days themoment you say yoga people thinkonly about asanas, pranayama orphysical health. The word yoga means'Unity' or 'Oneness' with the divine andis derived from the sanskrit word 'Yuj'which means 'to join'. Yoga means the

union of Individual soul with theSupreme soul.

Yoga is a divine gift revealed to theancient sages so that man is given theopportunity to realize his divine nature.Yoga is an Adhyatmik Science. Itteaches you how to elevate ourselvesinto various planes. When you performselfless action (Nishkama Karma) itbecomes 'Karmayoga'. If you areperforming Jnana Yagna without ego itis called 'Jnana Yoga'.

Not religiously but if you areimmersed in Japa without anyexpectation then it is called 'JapaYoga'. Not superficially but if you forgetyourselves in the glory of Almighty it iscalled 'Bhakti Yoga'.

When you perform asanas andPranayama concentrating not only onyour physical health, but also yourspiritual health, then it becomes HathaYoga. Hatha Yoga brings harmonybetween your physcial, mental andspiritual planes. When you performmeditation with the urge to discoveryourself it is called 'Raja Yoga'.

Similarly there are many streamsof yoga, like Mantra Yoga, Laya Yoga,Tantra Yoga, Swara Yoga etc. All theseyogas are meant to realise our TrueSelf.

AN APPEAL

A couple of weeks ago on Sunday11 January 2009 Nachiketa Tapovan

released its inaugural issue ofNachiketanjali-our Newsletter-highlighting all our major activities.

A 16 page free newsletter was sentto all our sponsors, donors, well-

wishers and above all the participantsin this noble task.

Construction of a Dhyana Mandirwith a seating capacity of 400 peoplewas taken up in the first phase of

Ashram activity. This will bededicated to the general public withthe basic objective of enlightening thespirituality in everyone's heart.

We have started the constructionwith the minimum funds available to

us, which is clearly a drop in the

ocean. The estimated cost ofconstruction as of now is Rs. 25Lakhs. It was decided that we should

issue a letter of appeal to allmembers.

We solicit generous donations incash or kind for the successful

completion of the Dhyana Mandir.

It may kindly be noted thatdonations to Nachiketa Tapovan areexempted from Income Tax u/s 80G

of IT Act, 1961 of Govt. of India.Donations in the form of Cheques /Demand Drafts may please be drawn
