RF Planning & KPI Optimization Engineer.Huawei - M1 3G UMTS and 4G LTE NPI Optimization ProjectFrom 14th May 2013 – 26th November 2014 Roles and Responsibilities as RF Network Coordinator and Optimizer:

Responsible to analysis the Throughput and Data Call Drop, Data Call Setup failure and other KPIs in LTE logs with NEMO Outdoor tool.

Post Processing the measurement log files and Analysis the poor RSRP, RSRQ and find the Handover failure due to missing LTE and WCDMA Neighbors in NEMO Analyzer and ACTIX tool.

Drive test post processing using Nemo Analyzer & identifying problem areas with recommended solutions.

Troubleshooting problems like missing neighbors, coverage holes, pilot pollution areas, areas of no dominance, code plan problems, overshooting sites, parameter inconsistency etc. through RF log analysis.

Improving & Maintaining KPI's defined by customer. Log Files Analysis and troubleshooting of areas having bad RSCP, Ec/No, Pilot pollution,

missing 3G neighbors, 3G/2G neighbors, check the Cross-Feeder at the new sites of 3G. RF Coverage optimization using antenna tilt and azimuth fine tuning for optimal

coverage overlap and reduction of pilot pollution by Ec/No and RSCP improvements. Identification of peak and mean throughput for HSDPA. Checks/resolves 3G parameter to optimize network, reduce network drop calls, and

reduce interference levels, blockage and HO failures. Solving Customer Complaints by log files analysis and optimizing hard and soft

parameters resulting in satisfaction of customers. Checking and analysis of wireless parameters: CPICH power, Primary scrambling code,

2G/3G neighbors, missing neighbors, Active Sets and inter frequency parameters. Performed Interference Scanning using Spectrum Analyzer.

• Weekly & Monthly report preparation to show existing Network performance & recommendation.

• Preparing power point presentation plots for the radio parameter like RSCP, EC/N0, SCR, TX Power, Channel number, Pilot Pollution, Active set cells etc. for customers.

Performing various types of drive test like Benchmarking in between the two Operators, roaming and night activity like BSC and MSC in GSM. RNC, IUBCS and IUBPS in WCDMA migration drive test and Software up gradations.

Can efficiently work on Map info 7.5 , 8.5 so as to perform operations like checking of the interference, Handover neighbor relations and planning.

Optimization related to voice drop call, handover failure, missing neighbor, bad quality patches, overshooting, poor C/I patches.

Specifying the optimization recommendations and making the network to meet the target KPI’s.

Suggestion and implementation of solutions to resolve the aforementioned issues by tuning Antenna parameters.

Roles and Responsibilities as Drive Test Engineer and Junior Radio Network Optimizer:

3G (UMTS) Radio Access Network Planning and Optimization. Conduct acceptance drive test on newly-on-air Node Bs, make certain that coverage and

best performance are met (video call, voice call and packet services UL and DL), proper Inter Systems Handovers are executed.

Regularly endorse critical alarms to Operations and Maintenance group for proper handling/ troubleshooting.

Checks/resolves 3G parameter discrepancies for Node Bs and Adjacencies (3G to 3G, 3G to 2G and 2G to 3G) especially after every network activities like BTS/BSC rehoming, LAC modifications.

Reconciles 3G and 2G parameters to provide smooth interoperability for traffic biasing and better handover process.

Involved in SSV (Single Site Verification) of NSN to observe per cell performance in basic services (SMS, MMS, voice call, video call) and also conducted throughput test for HSUPA and HSDPA.

Analysis of drive test data to identify and troubleshoot missing neighbors, coverage holes, pilot pollution areas, areas of no dominance, code plan problems, overshooting sites, parameter inconsistency etc.

Perform RF network tuning and enhance the soft and IRAT handover performance. Performing customer complaints to solve the poor coverage issues.

RF Drive Test Engineer Huawei – Aircel 2G & Huawei – Idea 2G From 12th August 2009 to 15th November 2010

Roles and Responsibilities as Drive Test Engineer:

RF Drive test for optimization of the GSM networks & Check GPRS/EDGE performance. Drive Test includes the analysis of RF parameters like cell sites RF coverage, Rx Level,

Rx Quality , C/I, inter-cell and intra-cell handovers, HO failures, Dropped calls, etc. Prepare Drive test Plot of Coverage, Quality & reports. Analysis of Statistics and Drive tests Data for monitoring the performance of the network

and generate report of the findings. Monitoring performance of cell site and take corrective measures for improving the

network performance. Prepared Pre and Post Drive test reports with KPI, Problem cause and recommendation

solutions. Monitoring Key Performance Identification (KPI) by means of SDCCH/TCH drop calls, call

set up success rate, handover success rate and congestion rate, and conducting Final acceptance Report by means of statistics and drive test measurements. 

Deciding Antenna positioning by checking coverage prediction. Interference detection & rectification, Hand over, Sector Swapping & frequency

scanning. Handling of interference issues by change of frequency, parameter of site & neighboring

sites, antenna orientation. Physical optimization of networks. To perform site survey & verify the suitability of sites from the RF point of view. Initial optimization of networks such as antenna system verifications for antenna types,

tilts, azimuths, verification of jumpers & feeders. Visiting customer complaint area & do the testing by handset or sometimes making

Drive Test on the problematic area according to requirement. Assisting RNO Engineers in modifying Network parameters and in Network Optimization.
