the Vision
“To manifest the activities of the Institution in a way that the students emerge
as true leaders of Science & Technology and to enrich them with strong decision
making capacity and skills so that they glorify the name of the Institution as
well as the Nation.”
the Mission
“To boost the career prospects of the graduating students and to make them
competent to face global competitiveness and provide intensive quality
training for the students to improve their skills and credibility”
National Institute of Technology Nagaland (NIT Nagaland), a
premier institute of higher learning, is one of the thirty NITs in India,
established by the Ministry of Human Resource & Development (MHRD). It
was set up by the Government of India in 2009, as part of the Eleventh
Five-Year Plan (2007–2012), primarily for enhancing the scope of technical
education in the north-eastern states of the country. The Institute started
functioning under the mentorship of NIT Silchar in 2010, after two years of
which the permanent campus of NIT Nagaland came up in Chumukedima,
Dimapur with excellent facilities for the students and staffs of three
batches. The academic activities commenced from September 2012 in the
permanent campus.
The Institute extends a cordial, at the same time competitive
ambience to its students from diverse backgrounds, ably supported by well
experienced faculty, eminent personalities from academics and industry,
research scholars in various fields and a vibrant extracurricular life.
It is also facilitating research at various levels, with students and
faculty equally supported, in various disciplines of Science and Technology.
The ultimate goal is to make the students competent to face global
challenges and contribute to the society at large. The Institute epitomises
the spirit which our Nation aspires.
Presently in its fourth year, the Institute strives to provide excellent training
and placement opportunities to its students of pre-final and final year
respectively. For our new recruiters, this brochure helps to discover brand
new NIT Nagaland. It reasons out how and to what extent NIT Nagaland
embodies the vision and responsibilities of an institute of National
Importance and also stands apart from others at the very same. It is
hopefully an initiation into another fruitful relationship.
To all, the brochure offers our warm welcome to participate in
recruitment process at NIT Nagaland.
MESSAGE FROM PLACEMENT COORDINATOR
Training and Placement Cell, NIT Nagaland started functioning from
November 2012 with a basic goal to ensure placement for all the graduating final
year students. It also strives to guide the remaining students in achieving their
career objectives through adequate personality and skill development programmes.
It is indeed a great challenge to create a strong hold for NIT Nagaland in global
panorama. And I feel very glad to see that amidst the growing challenges, the team
of dedicated students relentlessly working towards achieving the core objectives.
The enthusiastic attitude of the students is impressive thus far and I believe that
such generous efforts will definitely bring forth dividends. I envision that within a
very short period NIT Nagaland will achieve global recognition and will become one
of the most preferred institutes for National and International recruiting agencies.
The pool of faculties who are constantly guiding the students of NIT
Nagaland in all their constructive endeavours, are a strong support towards
achieving the core objectives. Students, Faculties and Administration all need to
work collectively to ensure that all the aspiring students have the right job at hand
before leaving the Institute. My hope is that student community will also have the
opportunity to get introduced to the best technological innovations in the world. I
firmly believe that the able leadership of honourable Director, conscious efforts from
faculty members and dedication from the student community will guide towards the
right direction of success to prove our credibility. I wish the Training and Placement
Cell, NIT Nagaland a grand success.

Placement Guidelines
The Training & Placement Cell hosts a Company to the campus by processing the visit in a step-by-step manner.
Invitations are sent to the organizations with relevant information and Job Announcement Form.
A mutually convenient date for the organization's visit could be finalized through consultation with the placement office.
Companies fill the Job Notification Form and can either send it by post/email/fax/ courier it to the placement officer. The Job Notification
Form provides the primary basis of communicating the details of the positions offered to the candidates. It is therefore, highly desirable
that the form is completed in all respects, and it would be advantageous if it were accompanied by relevant company literature with more
details about the company.
The company visits the campus on the scheduled dates and gives a pre-placement presentation giving a brief corporate profile to the
students, following which the selection procedure commences.
Arrangements are made for conducting the written screening test or the company selection process.
Any specific requirement of company may be mentioned a priori, so as to avoid any inconvenience during the selection procedure.
At the end of the selection process, the final list of selected candidates is to be given to the placement officer duly signed by the company
official.
Detailed offer letters must essentially be sent to In-charge T&PC, who in turn will distribute them to the selected candidates and
co-ordinate the return of acceptance letters duly signed by the candidates.
