This study will compare outcomes of surgical and non-surgical treatment in patients with chronic rotator cuff tears Rotator Cuff Tears: Optimizing Diagnosis and Treatment Strategies NIH/NIAMS/1K23AR059199 Principal Investigator ($661,840 in Total Costs) Effort: 75% The study will fill a void in knowledge on diagnosis and treatment for patients with rotator cuff tears. The study will also provide information on which patients may benefit more from operative versus non-operative treatment. Predictors of Operative and Non-Operative Treatment for Rotator Cuff Tears: The ROW Study Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (VICTR) Principal Investigator ($34,015 in Total Costs) Effort: 0% In our existing cohort of patients with rotator cuff tears, this study proposes additional recruitment and assessment of structural and patient characteristics associated with better pain and functional outcomes in patients with rotator cuff tears.
