Gloria:
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to people of good will.
We praise you,
We bless you,
we adore you,
we glorify you,
we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King,
O God, almighty Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world,
receive our prayers;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father,
have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One,
you alone are the Lord, you alone are
the Most High,
Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father.
Amen
Liturgy of the Word/Liturgia de la Palabra First Reading/ Primera Lectura
1 Kings 19:9a,11-13a(115A)
1 Reyes 19.9 11-13
At the mountain of God, Horeb,
Elijah came to a cave where he took
shelter.
Then the LORD said to him,
“Go outside and stand on the mountain
before the LORD;
the LORD will be passing by.”
A strong and heavy wind was rending
the mountains
and crushing rocks before the
LORD—
but the LORD was not in the wind.
After the wind there was an
earthquake—
but the LORD was not in the
earthquake.
After the earthquake there was fire—
but the LORD was not in the fire.
After the fire there was a tiny
whispering sound.
When he heard this,
Elijah hid his face in his cloak
and went and stood at the entrance of
the cave.

Responsorial Psalm/Salmo Responsorial
Psalm 85:9, 10, 11-12, 13-14
Salmo 84, 9a-10, 11-12. 13-14
R. (8) Lord, let us see your kindness,
and grant us your salvation. I will hear what God proclaims;
the LORD — for he proclaims peace.
Near indeed is his salvation to those
who fear him,
glory dwelling in our land.
R. Lord, let us see your kindness,
and grant us your salvation. Kindness and truth shall meet;
justice and peace shall kiss.
Truth shall spring out of the earth,
and justice shall look down from
heaven.
R. Lord, let us see your kindness,
and grant us your salvation. The LORD himself will give his
benefits;
our land shall yield its increase.
Justice shall walk before him,
and prepare the way of his steps.
R. Lord, let us see your kindness,
and grant us your salvation.
R. (8) Muéstranos, Señor, tu
misericordia.
tierra.
R. Muéstranos, Señor, tu
misericordia. La misericordia y la verdad se
encontraron,
la justicia y la paz se besaron,
la fidelidad brotó en la tierra
y la justicia vino del cielo.
R. Muéstranos, Señor, tu
misericordia. Cuando el Señor nos muestre su
bondad,
nuestra tierra producirá su fruto.
La justicia le abrirá camino al Señor
e irá siguiendo sus pisadas.
R. Muéstranos, Señor, tu
misericordia.
Second Reading/ Segunda Lectura Romans 9: 1-5
Romanos 9, 1-5
Brothers and sisters:
I speak the truth in Christ, I do not lie;
my conscience joins with the Holy
Spirit in bearing me witness
that I have great sorrow and constant
anguish in my heart.
For I could wish that I myself were
accursed and cut off from Christ
for the sake of my own people,
my kindred according to the flesh.
They are Israelites;
theirs the adoption, the glory, the
covenants,
the giving of the law, the worship, and
the promises;
theirs the patriarchs, and from them,
according to the flesh, is the Christ,
who is over all, God blessed forever.
Amen. The Word of the Lord

Gospel/Evangelio Matthew 14: 22-33/ Mateo 14, 22-33
After he had fed the people, Jesus made
the disciples get into a boat
and precede him to the other side,
while he dismissed the crowds.
After doing so, he went up on the
mountain by himself to pray.
When it was evening he was there alone.
Meanwhile the boat, already a few miles
offshore,
was being tossed about by the waves, for
the wind was against it.
During the fourth watch of the night,
he came toward them walking on the sea.
When the disciples saw him walking on
the sea they were terrified.
“It is a ghost,” they said, and they cried
out in fear.
At once Jesus spoke to them, “Take
courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
Peter said to him in reply,
“Lord, if it is you, command me to come
to you on the water.”
He said, “Come.”
Peter got out of the boat and began to
walk on the water toward Jesus.
But when he saw how strong the wind
was he became frightened;
and, beginning to sink, he cried out,
“Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand
and caught Peter, and said to him, “O you
of little faith, why did you doubt?”
After they got into the boat, the wind
died down.
Those who were in the boat did him
homage, saying,
“Truly, you are the Son of God.”
The Gospel of the Lord.
fantasma!” Y daban gritos de terror. Pero
Jesús les dijo enseguida: “Tranquilícense
y no teman. Soy yo”.
comenzó a hundirse y gritó: “¡Sálvame,
Dios”.

Homily
Profession of Faith/Profesión de Fe I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit
was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under
Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord,
the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son
is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
Creo en un solo
Dios, Padre todopoderoso,
engendrado, no creado,
de la misma naturaleza del Padre;
por quien todas las cosas fueron hechas;
que por nosotros los hombres,
y por nuestra salvación
descendió del cielo,
y por obra del Espíritu Santo
se encarnó en María La virgen,
y se hizo hombre;
y por nuestra causa fue crucificado
en tiempos de Poncio Pilato,
padeció y fue sepultado,
y resucitó al tercer día,
según las Escrituras,
Creo en el Espíritu Santo,
Señor y dador de vida,
que procede del Padre y del Hijo
que con el Padre y el Hijo
recibe una misma adoración y gloria,
y que habló por los profetas.
y subió al cielo,
y está sentado a la derecha del Padre;
y de nuevo vendrá con gloria,
para juzgar a vivos y muertos,
y su reino no tendrá fin.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and
apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism
for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of
the dead and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
