O Sacrament Most Holy! At St. Bartholomew, preparation for First Holy Communion is a two-year faith formation program where parents—as the first teachers of faith—join with catechists for instruction of their children. Traditionally, these joyous celebrations are held in the church during the Easter Season. In this most unusual year, three liturgies were held outdoors under the canopy of God’s creation on July 24 and 31. Twenty boys and girls whose eyes were filled with wonder and awe came forward with hands outstretched and cupped to create a throne to receive Jesus for the first time as the Bread of Life come down from heaven.
