It is the Code of Conduct which is responsible for the Organisation movin
forward, growing from strength to strength. The office bearers shouldexercise maximum care to see that the Code of Conduct is adhered to and
guide others also in the right path... There should be no scramble for
power or position. What matters is the purity, intensity of devotion and the

delegates were asked to have their Centres conduct study circles on the Nine Point Code
of Conduct.

1. Daily Meditation And PrayerWhat is the need of daily meditation and prayer? Both Meditation and prayer?
To make your monkey mind do our bidding and not what it wills, is a basic
spiritual practice. The surface of the water must be still
The lake must be free of dirt, debris, froth and pollutants
The mind should be still and heart should be pure
What to Pray and How much time for Praying? How to Pray?
Meditation Methods? - Jyothi, Soham or Breath
Any form / diety that attracts your mind and pleases your heart
Two times a day untill every moment, every act and every word becomes a prayer
Prayer is not a burden. Do it with Joy because God is Joy, Bliss & Peace
Prayer & Meditation Techniques
Divide the time for chanting, recitations & meditation
Find a suitable time for meditation Brahma muhurtam, More time on holidays
Allocate convenient location, neat and clean

2. Devotional-Singing or Prayer with members of family
once a weekWhy Swami is insisting to do bhajans / prayers along with family members?
What is the Additonal benefit? The Family that prays together stays together. Group Prayers bring more positive
vibrations In the home and brings love and unity between the family members
What stops in doing family prayers regularly?
Rest of the family members are not SAI devotees
No body finds the time to meet regularly
Differences in attitudes and methods
Remedies -
Take the first step and start doing prayers at regular times
Show the difference in your behaviour
Avoid Holier Than You Attitude

3. Participation in Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) organised by
the Centre for children
Swami Said, The objective is to bring up the child with a proper understanding
of human values through stories, practical illustrations and experiences in life, etc., so that as a grown up individual he becomes aware of the Divinity inherent
in him and become useful member of the society and citizen of the country.
Bal Vikas Gurus work purely because of their love on our beloved bhagawan
and his love will flow to the children through the selfless service of the Gurus.
One of the Balvikas Guru asked Swami, Swami, what are the qualities a Bal
Vikas child should possess? Swami replied, You children must have Bhaya,
Vinaya and Viswasa (Fear, Humility and Faith). Fear of what? Fear of doing
wrong, of falling into falsehood. Humility before whom? Before elders, teachers,
parents. Faith in what? Faith in God, in your own strength, in your own victory.
Why it is so imporant to attend SSE for children of the SAI Families ?
Bal Vikas means Child Expansion i.e, expansion of consciousness. Swami said,
The ideal of Bal Vikas is to raise a generation of youth who have a clean and
clear conscience.

4. Participation in community work and other programs
of the Organisation
Both Bhakti (Devotion) And Karma (Service) are essential in the path of spiritual
journey towards Jnana (Knowledge)
Love without action is useless and Action without Love is meaning less.
Love in Action is Service. Every religion says, Service to Man is Service to God
Swamy says, Hands That Serve Are Holier Than The Lips That Pray
Dont wait for Sai Centre members to organise a service activity. Even then we find
Hundren reasons not to participate than finding one reason to participate.
Always look around for an opportunity to serve the community. If you find one and
Need help in organising the event, always approach Sai Centre Members.

5. Attend at least once a month Group devotional singing
organised by the Centre
Devotional singing is the foundation for all other sadhanas. This sadhana softents the
Heart and moves the aspirant ahead in other sadhans like Community Seva, Meditation,Studying Spiritual Literature, Nama Smarana etc. Without proper foundation, the
structure is not strong to withstand calamities. Similarly, Without devotional singing,
all other sadhanas cannot proceed for longtime.
Once a month or once a week, the sincere aspirant must constantly be tuned in todevotional songs, their lips of their minds constantly singing of Divinity
Only if bhajans are used as such will they bring about the necessary results
- the softening of the heart,
- the gentleness of speech,
- the kindness of thoughts,- the yearning to serve
If the name and message of God is constantly in the mind, the cleansing effect will
most certainly take effect, and devotees will see their lives, their character and
behaviour transformed; without this transformation, the devotional songs have little or
no spiritual significance.
