VISUALISING THE TEXT Students listened to the text ‘Just shocking! Fun with a fire hose’ by Andy Griffith and were asked to visualize one scene from the story that appealed to them and that they could visualize.

Students in Yellow Home

Group have been discussing

and planning for the

upcoming ‘Nilma Warrior’

event. Through consultation

with Ms Sutherland and

discussions within the

classroom the course has been revised

and set ready for the 2018 event. We

are super excited for next Friday the

16th of November. A list of equipment

and materials are listed within the

newsletter – please have a read and

let the office know if there is an item

or two that you can supply us with for

the day.

The children have

completed their

narratives and are now

carefully illustrating

their books. In STEAM

we are learning about

japan and their

traditions. This week we learnt

about Sumo Wrestling. It is a

popular sport in Japan and dates

back 1500 years. The children

have made a Sumo Wrestler, it is

almost complete, they just have

to add the Mawashi! It will be

exciting to share their

knowledge and what they have

made later in the term.

In Term 3 Blue Home Group students wrote a poem and entered it into a Write4fun competition. All the students did a fantastic job. Cohen got a certificate for 'Excellence in Writing' which placed him in the top 5 percent of entries in the competition.

Storm

The booming from hell,

Lighting forks crashing towards the ground,

Dogs whimpering in kennels,

Trees gripping for dear life,

The lights flicker,

Then they just turn off,

Candles being lit,

Human souls filled with fear,

Floods wandering down the street,

The wind turns into a gale,

Hearts beat super-fast,

Demons banging on the door,

Cats running for shelter,

Bugs coming into houses,

Kids hiding under beds,

Grass turning from green to black,

Trees crashing to the ground blocking the road,

Cars skidding on the road,

Red and blue lights flashing,

Mother Nature roaring with anger,

Next day a lot of work to be done.

By Cohen.

SCHOOL FUNDRAISER—ICYPOLE SLEEVES Well done to the senior students for coordinating the fundraiser! They have raised approx. $229 for the school! Thank you also to Phil Mammolito for your help with coordinating the fundraiser.

BOTTLE CAP COLLECTION Don’t forget to collect and hand in your plastic Bottle Caps. Check the caps first to see that they display number 2 as this is the plastic we are recycling. Bottle caps are also one of the top polluters in our oceans. Recyclable, unfortunately bottle caps fall through the machinery and get sent to landfill. So let’s do something about it!

SPORTING SCHOOLS There are still places available for students to participate in the after school Volleyball sessions. The sessions run on Wednesdays from 3.30-4.15pm and will occur on the 14th, 21st, 28th November and 5th December.
