ArchivalInformationSystem(OAIS)andPREMISareusedforpreservationmetadata.Rightsmetadata

includesCreativeCommons;METSRights;ONIXForPublicationsLicenses;andOpenRightsDigital

implementedMODS,METSandPremisfore-journals.“Theyconcludedthatthethreestandardsare

suitableforcomplexcaseslikee-journals.TheystatedthatMETSprovidesarobustandflexiblewayto

definedigitalobjects,whileMODSprovideswaystodescribeobjectsandPREMISprovideswaysto

describeobjectsandprocessesthatareessentialfordigitalpreservation”(“ImplementingMETS,MIX,

andDC…,”2011,p.84).Oneofthepointsmadeintheintroductoryproblemstatementcamefroma

studybyDulockandCronin,who“assertedthatoneofthestrengthsofMETSwasthati[t]could

“facilitatetheassociation,organization,andcollocationfordigitalobjectswithinasingleMETS
