Wellbeing at UHCW
• We have a multi-professional health and well-being group in place, which includes staff sidepartners
• The group uses organisational evidence (feedbackfrom the National Staff Survey, our local staffsurvey – Staff Impressions – and listening events)to understand what our staff what and need inrelation to well-being support in the workplace

The Missing Pillar
• Despite having a wide ranging programme and series of support interventions in place, we felt something was missing
• We know the cost of living is rising national and pay restraint in the NHS has caused difficulties for many staff
• We also had some incidents where this came to light
• We needed to look at financial wellbeing and so we found Neyber……and their research
![Page 9: NHS Staff Financial Pressure and the Impact on Performance](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022030319/58530ad11a28abfa398e6b54/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
2016 onwards: Three Pillars of Wellbeing
Physical Wellbeing Emotional / Mental Wellbeing
Financial Wellbeing
(1) Neyber – launched 31st
October 2016
(2) UHCW unique staff discounts package
![Page 10: NHS Staff Financial Pressure and the Impact on Performance](https://reader031.vdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022030319/58530ad11a28abfa398e6b54/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
The Challenges
• Need to make the business case – well-being is not an ‘add-on’ but an essential element for any organisation
• Need for staff engagement – to make sure your interventions are what staff want and need
• Cannot solve everything in one go – need to start small and with the ‘quick wins’
• One size doesn’t fit all – need to different interventions for different groups in your workforce
• Need to measure the impact of our approach – e.g. staff absence levels, staff engagement levels, staff FFT scores
