Create & Configure Protocol

Navigate to the EMIS ball, then Configuration, then select Template Manager. Click the Templates and Protocols tab.

Next navigate to where you would like the protocol to be saved. (We would suggest the same location as the templates.) Select Add > Protocol from the top hand menu.

Create a protocol to match the diagram below. You will need to use:

‘Ask Yes / No Question’ from Decision Nodes

‘Create Letter’ from Action Nodes. When adding the ‘Launch Document’ for this, you will need to locate the Asthma Action Plan document template (see diagram below).

Save the protocol and title it ‘Asthma Action Plan Launch’.

Navigate to the triggers tab of your protocol as shown below and click on the Add button to update the triggers for the protocol.

Now choose the System Trigger and Run Mode from the drop down boxes as shown below.

Click to Add/Edit and enter the following code: 8CMA0

Click OK > OK to confirm changes.

You have now designed a protocol which will launch the Asthma Action Plan whenenver a review is completed using the Asthma Management CCCG v1.0 clinical template.
