2. General Comments

a) Design and reinforcement detail for approach slab shall be submitted for our review.

b) Miscellaneous drawings shall be submitted for our review

3, General Arranoement Drawinos

c) Circular pier with open foundation arrangement are provided while in note no .16 RCC

wall type abutment is mentioned. Kindly reconcile.

d) Design has been done as per Elastomer bearing but POT-PTFE bearing is mentioned in

GAD. Please correct.

e) Expansion gap shown as 20mm at abutment location, the calculation of expansion and

contraction gap may kindly be submitted for our review.

f) 5500mm vertical clearance shall be archived where BT Road is available (P23-P24).

g) In detail Y & Z, the depth of girder is shown up half portion of the deck slab. Kindly

correct.

h) Reference drawing number shall be mentioned in GAD.

i) Note no. 6 is showing Strip Seal type expansion joint is provided while Modular type

expansion joint is shown in detail Y (Sheet 4 of 6).

j) Size of pedestal shall be shown in GAD.

k) Deck continuity shown for some span ,it shall be provided for total span for better

ridding quality .

4. Desiqn of sub-structure for oier of heiqht.up to 7m & Reinforcement Drawinq

a) It should be clearly mentioned on drawing that drawing will be applicable for pier

marked (Pt -P24) which is fall under 7m height of pier. The same shall be mentioned

on design note also.

b) A page showing height of pier from

included in design note with table

Founding Level etc .

c) It is recommended to provide POT-PTFE bearing.

d) Link slab joining deck from both sides shall also be checked for rotation, deflection due

to self-weight, SIDL, live load, creep & shrinkage

e) Xumax shall be calculated as per IRC: SP 105-2015

0 Flexural reinforcement in footing shall be calculated using Effective width as (b+(B-

b)/B) --- b = Top width of footing, B = Bottom width of footing.

g) Compression reinforcement in bottom face of pier cap provided in drawing is not

matching as per the design (kindly refer page no.54 of pdf).Kindly reconcile.

h) Bar marked 13 -16dia 2legged is provided in drawing while 16dia 4legged considered

in design .Kindly Reconcile.

i) It has been observed that in Longitudinal moment case ,transverse moment considered

is zero which is not possible .Kindly include the load factor considered in design with

combinations as per IRC :6-2014.Page 2 of3

j) It is also observed that in span dislodged case, weight is considered half which is notpossible, weight of super-structure may be half but weight of sub-structure will besame.

k) Design of pier for deck continuity is missing.l) In design note, page 42 of pDF, some texts are missing.m) Base pressure shall be checked with gross bearing with weight of footing and soil over

footing.

n) It has been observed that vertical load in Qp is 1086T & 1266.2T in Basic combinationwhich is not possible .Kindly recheck again.

o) 35olo increase in seismic forces is not done. Kindly refer page no.94 & 95.p) Increase in permissible stresses shall not be done by permitted by IRC :112,Kindly

refer page no.95& 99.q) Factored design moment considered as Mst which shall be corrected for Mrare & Mqp.r) Lap length shall be calculated as per IRC :112s) A section to be cut at mid portion of the column shall be shown in reinforcement

drawing of pier & pier cap.

t) Bent up details of circular stirrups provided in pier shail be shown.u) shape for main bar marked 15 is looking like links .Kindly correct.v) Bar marked 12 is missing in sec A-A (FVPL-NH-7-BP-AUP-656+3OO-PIER REF-001 _
