FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 12, 2011 NGT MOTORSPORT TO COMPETE IN REMAINING ALMS ENDURANCE EVENTS MIAMI, FL (August 12, 2011) – NGT Motorsport announced today that it will compete in the three remaining GTC endurance events in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón – Road America, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Capitalizing on an impressive debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring, where they finished third in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, NGT Motorsport will return with the same line up they had at Sebring – Porsche Supercup title leader Sean Edwards, 2010 IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama Gold Cup champion and current Platinum Cup leader Henrique Cisneros and his GT3 teammate, Carlos Kauffmann. “NGT might be relatively new to ALMS but we have been competing with IMSA since 2005,” noted team owner Ramez Wahab. “And I think we have the best crew out there – guys from Germany, Italy, Monaco and all over the United States. Our team engineer, Konstantine Kotitsas, led multiple teams to Porsche Supercup and Carrera Cup titles. Our crew members have a great deal of national and international endurance experience, winning titles in numerous FIA and ALMS Championships and in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with teams such as the Audi LMP1 Team. So I think we are ready for the remaining GTC season.” NGT Motorsport has enjoyed a steady trajectory through the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama, preparing them for the jump to GTC. The team finished second in the GT3 championship in 2006 and won the Gold Cup title last season as Cisneros took the series by storm, with two victories, 11 podium finishes and eight pole positions in 14 races. Cisneros currently leads the Platinum Cup championship with three victories and five pole positions. Teammate Kauffmann finished third in the Gold Cup championship in 2010, earning six victories and eight pole positions, and has two podium finishes in six Platinum Cup events this year. British hot shoe Edwards leads the Porsche Supercup driver standings with a victory at Barcelona and a fourth place finish in the 96car Porsche Carrera World Cup at the Nürburgring. Wahab looks forward to the team’s return to ALMS action, since he believes the result from Sebring left the team with some unfinished business. “We entered our first ALMS race at the 12 Hours of Sebring and led the pace from the first session on. Everything was going according to plan until an unfortunate incident in the last session prior to qualifying. We had to rebuild the heavily damaged Cup Car overnight – we decided to skip qualifying and used that extra time to ensure we had a perfect car for the 12 hour race.

NGT   Motorsport   has   enjoyed   a   steady   trajectory   through   the   IMSA   GT3   Cup  Challenge  by  Yokohama,  preparing  them  for  the  jump  to  GTC. Teammate  Kauffmann

“We  started  last  in  class  and  had  the  fastest  race  lap  (2:07.798),  but  got  a  four  minute,  20  second  penalty  for  an  incorrect  pass  around.  And  yet,  we  finished  third  -‐  and  without  any  pit  lane  violations.  We  learned  a  great  deal  at  Sebring  and  we  know  where  our  strengths  and  weaknesses  are,  and  are  now  prepared  better  than  ever  for  the  remaining  GT3  endurance  races  this  season.”    The  Time  Warner  Cable  Road  Race  Showcase  will  be  broadcast  live  on  ESPN3.com  at  3:45pm  EDT  on  Saturday,  August  20.  An  edited  version  of  the  event  will  be  broadcast  on  ABC  Sunday,  August  21  at  4:30pm  EDT.  NGT’s  five-‐car   IMSA  GT3  Cup  Challenge  by  Yokohama  team  will  also  be  in  action,  with  races  on  Friday  and  Saturday.  To  see  all  the  results  for  NGT  Motorsport  and  for  more  information,  visit  http://www.ngtmotorsport.com/.
