NEXUS | Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce

Community spirit and civic pride are words that may fall on deaf ears in our busy technology-driven society, but now more than ever we long for personal connections and a strong sense of community. While we can’t go back to a time when neighbors left their doors

unlocked and shared sugar, we can come together, even if it’s just for a day or two that brings us closer to the feeling of belonging. Not only does civic participation and engagement elevate the solidarity of the community, it also supports community

businesses that are essential to a community’s financial well-being. These days, when we prioritize our budgets and time, attending community festivals may not be at the top of the list. But often, it’s these community celebrations that prove to be the most satisfying experiences for families and singles alike, offering a variety of activities to engage all interests. From barbeque cook-offs, to live music, to classic car shows and community parades, this summer is sure to be lively, fun and exciting, and may evoke a touch of nostalgia of when neighbors shook hands over great food and fun. So, if you are looking to plan out your summer or just looking to do something for the weekend, look no further than your Saint Paul and East Metro community festivals! After all, a city is made of residents, but a community is made of participants!
