FROM THE EDITOR

The sun is out and when I step outside it is deceiving but the birds are singing and indoor auto shows are everywhere. Can spring be

far behind? To get a jump start on this, our March meeting is at the Bonnell’s Rod on Middle Rd in Fairview, Pa. This is the same

shop that hosts the large cruise in Aug. Come for a light meal, bring a snack that can be eaten without silverware and have an up close

and personal tour of the rod shop. LEMOC was out at the shop a few years ago and had a good time. Meal will be served at 6:30 with

a short meeting and then a tour.

After the Bonnell’s visit I know I will be ready for crusing!! My 2019 will be delivered this month in time for the 55th Celebration in

Charlotte. Like a kid at Christmas I am counting the days till delivery.

Hope to see everyone at the meeting

LEMOC MEETING MINUTES

The first meeting of the year was held on Wednesday February at 7:30pm. There were 18 members present.

Up first was our guest speaker LEMOC member Jeff Gibbens who gave a talk on “Retiring Happy”. Jeff works at AFEA

which helps people make good decisions about Social Security, retirement planning and prudent money management. It

was very informative talk directed at most of the club members who are already in retirement or getting ready to retire.

Treasurer’s report was read and approved.

Pony Post no new information.

Membership – We currently have 41 members

MCA – Doug Went over the 3 levels of MCA membership and encouraged all members to join as it helps with our

insurance for our car show. We have 13 club members who are MCA members. We also have passes for the Mustang

Museum which opens in April. The passes will be signed out like a library book. If anyone would like a pass for the

Museum, please see Jon Haverty.

ACTIVITIES

Jon mentioned the Snowflake Cruise/dinner dance on Feb. 23. We would like to get enough members to get a whole table.

Our March meeting will be held at Bonnell’s Rod Shop in Fairview. We will meet at 6:30 for dinner, a quick meeting then

a tour of the building. The Haverty’s will be bringing pulled pork and ask other club members to bring something that can

be eaten without silverware. It is BYOD (bring your own drink)

Looking to do something on April 17 for the Mustang 55th Anniversary. Quaker Steak and Lube on Peach St. was

mentioned.

Our Cruise the Bay date has been changed to Monday July 15.

Jeff Gibbens will once again be playing at the Packard Museum on Sat. July 6

Car Show

The charity for this years show is Community Shelter Center. We will do a Stuff the Mustang with school supplies. If

anyone brings school related items to the show to stuff the Mustang, they will get 3 extra Chinese Auctions tickets.

Kevin Burkholder is working on our show flier.

Mike Trinko is working on our dash plaques.

Beth Mather will bring cards to the next meeting with themes on the card like last year to help with Chinese Auction

items.

Trophy details still being worked out.

If anyone has any ideas to help make this 30th show special, please let Chris and Jerry DeRosa know.

LEMOC WEBSITE

Jerry Seamans has volunteered to take over our website after it has not been updated for a while. If anyone goes to the

website they will see it is under construction. With the refresh of the LEMOC Website, we would like to include pictures of your Mustang. Please forward your favorite pictures of your Mustangs, along with the year and any special info you would like displayed (ie. Mach, Boss, Grande, etc.). You can send them to me via e:mail or text (e:mail [email protected] or text to 814-450-8505). Thanks, Jerry Seamans

Beth Mather made the motion to pay the Boy Scouts $200.00 so that we are up to date on payments for the use of their

building.

SECRETARY NEEDED!!

We are in need of a Secretary!! It makes it difficult for one person to do minutes at the meeting then to translate it to the

Pony Post. You do not have to be a good handwriter. Just take notes at the meeting and if you do not want to translate it to

minutes just send an outline and I can do it. It is not a difficult position. Please consider this position. Remember it is

everyone’s club and while it takes a village to raise a child, it also takes all members to participate to make the club a

success.

CRUISE AND SNOOZE

The tentative date for the 2019 Cruise and Snooze is Aug. 24 -25. Looking at going to Mansfield, Ohio to tour the Ohio

Reformatory where the movie Shawshank Redemption was filmed. Will leave Fairview, Pa. travel to the Carousel Park

for a box lunch, drive to the Reformatory for a tour then back to Manfield, Ohio to tour the downtown area. Dinner has

not been finalized yet. Hotel is Quality Inn in Mansfield, Ohio. On Sun. traveling to Utica, Ohio to tour the Velvet Ice

cream plant (free samples!) then head to Medina, Ohio to High Voltage Go Karting. We cannot do MidOhio Race Track

due to all the safety regulations that are now in place for lap races so High Volatge Go Karting seems to be the next best

thing. Will have hotel phone number and pricing at March meeting.

This is a shot of the High Voltage Go Karting that we attended with the North East Ohio Mustang

Club. Thanks to Sonney Reese from NEO who let us attend. It was a blast. Check out their website and how fast these

electric cars go. www.highvoltagegokarting.com

Club donation was won by Rick Burkholder

Meeting adjourned at 9 pm.

SNOWFLAKE CRUISE

A small group of LEMOC members attended the Snowflake Cruise to benefit Make A Wish and from the pics it looked

like they had a good time.
