Completion of this project is expected by September 30, weather permitting. Annual Asphalt Repaving Program Council has approved the 2016 Asphalt Paving Program Tender, budgeted at $550,000. Work began Monday, August 8th and will include sections of Victoria, Catherine, Smith, King, Allanbrooke, Roslyn, Tupper and Betts, selected on the basis of a condition assessment. Sidewalk Repair Program Repairs are now underway and will be made throughout the city based on a condition assessment. Responsibilities include: • Cemetery operations • Maintenance of outdoor recreation facilities • Integrated pest management (mosquito control, weed/insect/pest control) • Maintenance of trails and pathways • Maintenance of equipment • Grass cutting • Garbage Pickup Other responsibilities include assisting in the other various streams in the Parks Division with duties such as: • Participation in the beautification program • Snow removal • Arena operations • Maintenance of urban forest • Participation in all required training • Completion of all required paper work • All other work assigned by a supervisor as needed Qualifications, Experience and Skills: • Certification or experience in backhoe operation • Experience and knowledge of equipment operation (tractor, mowers, skidsteer, snow blowers) • Certification or must be able to obtain a pesticide/landscape application licence • Experience handling customer queries and concerns • Effective problem solving and communication skills • Related parks and/or sports field experience • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Possess and maintain a valid Saskatchewan class 5 driver’s license • Possess and maintain RCMP security clearance Length of Employment & Hours of Work: This is a temporary full time position; the end date is unknown at this time. Dracup Avenue South – Darlington Street to Broadway Street EastUnderground infrastructure replacement and utility service connections to businesses on Dracup Avenue South (Darlington Street to Broadway), have now been completed. This includes new water, sewer and storm drainage lines.Roadway reconstruction is underway and concrete paving will follow. Existing Roof Top Units are to be replaced with two - 5 ton Roof Top Air Conditioning Units, complete with 8 additional associated vents per unit, and a 5 ton condensing unit in the existing furnace.
