Visualization Editor
Machine visualization can be fully integrated into the Control plus engineering system, which ensures fast, consistent working during project creation. A large number of objects are available for configuring the visualization and can easily be placed by drag and drop. Through integration into the engineering system they can very quickly be linked to real data. The use of objects also offers many advantages: They not only bring the controller code, but also the appropriate visualization straight away. In the case of a drive object, for example, in addition to the drive functions setup dialogs are available
for visualization. This allows new functions to be tested and reused quickly. The visualization features a standardized basic frame with functionalities for user management, operating mode switching, language setting and error display, as well as a central menu. Thanks to integrated user management, the user interface can be individually adapted to the needs of different users. Control plus also allows the configuration of multiple user interfaces per machine.

Framework
The framework is the core of the Control plus soft-ware system. It includes the complete software sys-tem and combines the disciplines of IEC 61131pro-gramming, development of machine visualization and the configuration of data management. The framework forms the basis for the consistent display of cross-discipline features. Framework features are shown in full and do not require re-programming but rather safeguard efficiency in the development and operation of machines.
It enables different user groups to access software quickly, as these basic functions are implemented identically across all Control plus applications, regardless of project.

Object management
Efficient development based on reusable objects Object Browser
In addition to templates, Control plus offers a high number of encapsulated, tested and reusable objects. These are managed within the object library, regularly upgraded and kept up-to-date. The object library can be viewed with the Object Browser; each object is displayed with all its properties. Use of the objects provided reduces development costs. However, your projects still retain full flexibility and independence: new, self-created objects can be added to an additional library if required. To do so, the programmer can use their usual development environment
and import the individually programmed objects there. We would be happy to help you create new objects – whether as implementer or through comprehensive training for your developers. Regardless of their source, all objects can be integrated into the project using drag and drop and directly used in process chains (SFC). This means that you can implement your projects quickly and easily with precisely the objects that are needed.

Catalog view (machine operator)The object browser provides the machine engineer with an insight into the available Control plus software objects during the project development and planning phase. This enables better cost estimation, as it reveals at a glance the functionalities and devices for which a software component is already available. The object repository can manage any number of repositories in addition to the central repository. This enables machine engineers to manage their own software objects in the same way and to keep projects up to date.
Project view (machine developers)The project view allows software developers to put together the required components of a project very easily. The Compare function displays the difference of the software objects in the project compared to the repository at any time. This allows you to view object updates at a glance. The change history of each object facilitates the decision to update.

Control plus already contains a large modular system of over 300 existing objects for the devices you use. These form the standardized device interface in the software so that different types of device can be addressed and operated in the same way. From drive axes through conveyor belts, data carrier access or measurement and analysis hardware, you can find devices from a range of manufacturers in our modular system to refer to. If the device you are using is not available in our modular system, you can create this at any time yourself.
We offer suitable training sessions on how to do so. Alternatively, you can also ask us to create a new object for you, which our device experts will get right on to. This saves you development time, maintains an assured quality and ensures a documented interface optimally suited to the overall modular system. Nexeed Automation provides a solution for the integration of single axes and the connection of a CNC-axis portal. The solution currently contains the hardware-independent objects AtmoAxis for controlling single axes and AtmoCncPortal for controlling a CNC-axis portal.

Whether transparency on machinery and system data or networking with any IT systems in production: the runtime system is far more than just control software for your machines. The information services and apps allow you to view machine statuses and figures in real time. This allows you to continuously maintain and optimize the productivity and performance of your production processes. Modern assistance functions based on the latest technology (augmented/virtual reality) allow easy error or component localization directly on the machine. With the runtime system, the operator is the focus: The user interface adapts to individual
needs, only displaying the information or functions that are actually required for the specific tasks. On the one hand, this prevents being overwhelmed by unnecessary complexity, while on the other, grants authorized persons full transparency and control over production. Each user always sees their customized interface – allowing familiar processes to be accessed quickly and easily. A comprehensive connectivity concept allows maximum transparency with open access to all machine data. The use of standardized interfaces such as OPC UA, WCF or REST facilitates the connection of the Control plus runtime system to other IT systems. The additional
features of information services enable the display and optimization of machine output as well as monitoring of the machine condition, offer error or component localization and display error statistics clearly and transparently.

Control software
The best possible use of machine capacity with minimal downtime is costly. It requires precise control software that takes into account all individual parameters of your production system and ensures that your machine or system runs as economically, stably and securely as possible. The control software in the Control plus runtime system executes the machine workflow and processes in the machine. Control plus is based on the powerful real-time environments Rexroth IndraWorks (Q4/2018) and Beckhoff TwinCAT V3. Depending on the performance requirements, the control software can be operated on hardware
of different performance classes. Both small machines with manual operation and large auto-mated production lines can be operated based on the same control software. The standardized Control plus programming framework in the control software ensures that all Control plus ma-chines behave in the same way. This makes work much easier for the user: switching to a different software application for each machine and the preparation this entails is not necessary, integrat-ing new system components is easy, and directly comparing data from different sources, such as machine reports, is entirely feasible.
In the "Expansions" chapter, additional software functions such as robotics or image processing and apps such as parts counters, cycle time diag-nostics or similar are available for the implemen-tation of machines that require an extended scope of functionality for PLC and HMI features.

Visualization
A user interface as individual as its users
Our human machine interface allows you full control over your machines. The HMI modulo is user-oriented, flexible and intuitive to use. You can create a personalized interface for each user or each role. Time-consuming searching or even accidentally changing settings are things of the past: maintenance employees for instance see only the information they need – and can only make the changes they are allowed to, depending on the authorization level.
In the case of a machine with several operating points or devices, each can be operated via an individual HMI. Thanks to this free scalability, production employees, service technicians and process engineers can access data on the machine simultaneously yet at different locations. A locking feature prevents conflicts arising: only one operating device can actively perform motions, others are blocked from performing the same function for the duration.
Getting started with the software is possible without further familiarization. If anything is unclear, the intuitive auxiliary function can be used. Users do not require elaborate and cost-intensive training and no longer need to read lengthy operating instructions. The standardized operating concept means switching between the different HMIs is no longer necessary. The user interface looks the same everywhere, the functions can be found easily and without searching.

In order to respond to the increasingly complex demands of the market, production must become more efficient and flexible. This includes both full data transparency for process optimization as well as the simple connection of machines and systems to a wide range of IT systems. With the software system Control plus you get both: maximum transparency of your production as well as fast and secure connection processes thanks to standardized, open communication interfaces. The boundaries between different IT systems are becoming more blurred than ever: machines communicate with and through a wide range of software environments.
Increasing networking and greater type variance create higher communication times, which are diametrically opposed to the requirement of ever shorter setup and latency times. Control plus also enables cross-communication between machines, which increases cycle or response time and therefore efficiency. Machine data can be easily retrieved thanks to open interfaces such as OPC UA, REST and WCF – regardless of IT system. Through the interfaces, not only current, but also historical data is made available. Temperature trends for instance from the last few days can be displayed and analyzed.
Furthermore, Control plus can be optimally connected to Nexeed Manufacturing Execution, Nexeed Production Performance Manager or the Energy Platform of Bosch.

A lot of data and information accumulate in production, which for performance reasons are made available only as live values. Historical data is lost. The information services as optional components in the Control plus system close precisely this gap. They record, process and store the real-time control data and make the information available in the apps provided and via IT interfaces. This makes it possible to operate a machine at maximum speed without having to do without historical data. This data
can be read from other systems via modern IT interfaces such as WCF or REST. The recorded data is merged with other relevant information within the machine. These "context packages" can combine temperature, vibration and time data, for example. In this way, faults can be narrowed down more precisely and linked to other events. The setting up of rules enables the machine to respond automatically, for example in the event of limit violations. This enables the machine to react in the event of subsequent errors or cycle time
deviations — with an email, a maintenance ticket or an automatic machine stoppage. Supplied shopfloor apps allow the stored data to be displayed clearly. This means that analyses such as top-10 evaluations or cycle time analyses can be carried out directly at the machine. The apps are designed in such a way that they can also be used in other environments without any problems.

Virtual Assist[APP]
Intuitive error diagnostics, fast service support and direct insight even into complex machines: With Virtual Assist, the HMI is literally made three dimensional.
Through simple configuration, a Virtual Assist can be created from CAD models for each individual machine. Virtual Assist communicates directly with the machine controller via the software interface standard OPC UA.
Unlike common 2D renderings, users can view the machine from all sides in 3D using Virtual Assist and look inside it. With the intuitive diagnostics system EventViewer, all machine parts that have caused a fault condition can be directly visualized in a 3D model. The PartFinder of Virtual Assist enables quick localization of machine components. This allows you to speed up maintenance times and shorten production interruptions.

Augmented Assist[APP]
With Augmented Assist, virtual objects as well as information can be displayed within the field of vision live and realistically via a tablet or in data glasses – such as machine status, faulty components or instructions in the case of servicing. Processes invisible to the eye are also made visible. Augmented Assist can self-configure without any complex programming. Augmented Assist communicates with the machine controller directly via OPC UA in order to query the machine status live. Automatic Cycle-Time Diagnostics (ATD)[Information Service + APP]
With automatic Cycle Time Diagnostics (ATD), you can quickly identify deviations on the machine in order to take early corrective action. Production managers detect the status of their machines' cycle times and keep productivity high.
ATD records the part cycle of Control plus-based machines and displays this on the machine's user interface.
In addition to the part cycle, ATD can also initiate detailed machine recording at configurable times. In this case, all of the machine's activities are re-corded – from the movement of individual devices to communication times with other IT systems.
The recorded detailed data can be automatically exported to XML files, allowing for easy integra-tion e.g. into cloud-based big data applications such as Tableau, etc.
To analyze data in the event of cycle time prob-lems, ATD offers an optimal interface to our prod-uct cycle time analysis (see the following page). This allows you to quickly find the machine parts that are responsible for cycle time deviations.

Integrated Vision
Industrial image processing: optical quality control and identification directly on the PLC hardware
Integrated Vision brings image processing to the PLC. The lightweight HDE2 Runtime can perform image processing processes directly on the PLC for minimal hardware and installation costs. Pictures and events are visualized in the Nexeed Automation HMI. CPU-intensive image processing applications can be outsourced to an additional computer without software changes using an easy configuration. PLC and image processing communicate via the OPC UA server of the PLC. Through this, Integrated Vision can read and write released PLC variables directly. Appropriate Control plus objects support the PLC user with standardized command and status
communication. Through the Industry 4.0 standard interface OPC UA, image processing also receives access to the Nexeed Automation Information Services. Image processing application specialists benefit from direct access to all functions of the powerful, globally proven HALCON image processing library. HDE2 takes over the processes 1:1 from the Halcon development environment without compiling or integrating into a different framework. This also allows work to be performed on processes directly on the target system, making optimization and debugging especially easy.

Seamless: robot programming
The conventional robot interface is based on jobs that are programmed by special robotics experts and retrieved by the PLC. Integrated robotics extends this interface to point-based communication. The API developed on this basis enables variable programming of the robot directly in your PLC sequences. Through the support of coordinate systems and the comprehensive management of tools, Integrated Robotics allows robotics applications to be applied in a standardized and manufacturer-neutral way. It therefore reduces the need for robot manufacturer-specific programmer expertise. This makes them more flexible, integrated and
powerful. Ready-made HMI interfaces enable an intuitive procedure and teaching of the robot as well as quick learning directly in the system visualization. Robot fault reports can be shown at a centralized point in the station HMI. A connection to all information services is available directly through integration into the Nexeed Automation platform.
Integrated robotics is ideally suited to pick-and-place tasks and in cooperation with dynamically changeable processes such as height-adjustable pickup positions or interaction with a camera system (robot vision). This allows several robotics systems to be easily controlled from one PLC.
In our construction kit, we currently support Stäubli (CS8C/CS9), KUKA (KR CA) and FANUC (R30iB) robots. The respective controller must therefore be ordered with the Bosch Nexeed Automation Integrated Robotics Bundle from Kuka or with the option "uniVAL plc" from Stäubli.

Scope3 View is a software oscilloscope for the graphical depiction of data in a YT, XY or bar chart.
Motion-CNC offers the option to plan multidimen-sional motions. This makes tasks with up to 64 axes-regulated spindles possible. 32 axes can be interpolated on one channel at the same time in order to perform very complex motion sequences. Motion-CNC supports electronic servo axes and step-by-step assembly systems. The program scope includes programmable loops, zero offset, tool corrections, M and H functions, mathematical functions, parameter/variable programming, user macros, spindle and auxiliary functions, tool func-tions as well as subprogram and jump technology. Programming with high-level language extensions is performed in accordance with DIN 66025. Ac-cess is available via functional components from TwinCAT PLC in accordance with IEC 61131-3.
The Scope3 server prepares data for visual display in the TwinCAT 3 Scope View. It can be used for self-sufficient data recording in distributed systems in the production, system or machine network.
NC Camming is a non-linear relationship between a master and a slave axis. The camming package offers various options for storing cam disks. Con-venient PLC components enable the loading, cou-pling and decoupling of cam disks. NC Camming also allows the reloading or modification of cam disks in ongoing operation.

This C-TEC type series UPS device ensures buffered DC supply in the case of interruptions to the power flow. An ultra-capacitor in the housing serves as an energy store, which is charged by the system voltage during normal operation. The DC consumers connected to the device are supplied at the same time. If there is a fault in the network, the UPS device seamlessly takes over the controlled power supply. The device is maintenance-free, durable and can be parameterized via a USB interface.

This version of the multi-touch panel VDP15.3-HMI-EG is designed for installation in the control cabinet door. The IndraControl VDP15 is best suited to harsh industrial use: the panel is designed as a monitoring solution and enables easy and cost-effective connection to the controller.
Only one cable is required for graphic and operating data. The TFT screen is designed for installation in the front of a control cabinet and for protection class IP 65. In conjunction with a control cabinet PC, it forms a modern and user-friendly operating and visualization terminal with multi-touch technology. The device has a CDI interface and two USB ports.
The multi-touch control panel VDP15.3-HMI-GG from Rexroth is designed for industrial use in machine and systems engineering. It is mounted using a bearing arm adapter or pipes on site. The panel is equipped for protection class IP 65 on the front and back. Thanks to modern, integrated display technology, it is suitable for implementing diverse operating concepts with maximum flexibility.
The high touch point density ensures safe operation. The CDI interface allows the panel to be placed up to 50 meters from the PC.

High RangeMaximum performance for demanding automation solutions
The high range system packages enable the integration of the complete Control plus functional scope on a central control PC in the machine. The systems guarantee short cycle times for the use of the full functional scope such as PLC, visualization & apps, motion and/or robotics in the application. The assistance systems Augmented Assist and Virtual Assist can be used on the modern computing architecture. Use of the capacitor UPS is required for safe operation. Networking to higher-level IT systems such as Nexeed Manufacturing Execution (MES) and actuator/sensor technology is planned via the interfaces Ethernet and EtherCAT. The typical application areas are demanding assembly technology, short cycle, testing and process machines. The mid range system packages enable the cost-effective implementation of projects in the application area of assembly technology. The systems include typical functions such as control, regulation and visualization. The wide range of interfaces (Ethernet, EtherCAT and the direct apposition of terminals) offers maximum flexibility with minimum space requirements.
The system can be fully networked with higher-level IT systems from third-party providers and with Nexeed Manufacturing Execution. The use of the assistant systems Augmented Assist and Virtual Assist is not possible on mid range systems; for this, a performance increase must be planned through the use of an active mPad (with integrated computer).
